My only argument against banning people would be that they would pollute the message boards even worse than I do.

But FF still needs to be H2H, we just need active owners. I threw out this idea in the other event. Make this an invitational event, make sure it's pretty easy to enter the first year, but if you have a dead team, you are banned for life from the event. did the other event embrace your idea. please follow-up. what were the adv and disadv. thanks.

don't worry i'll look at the teams that got "screwed" this year due to H2H and other things. be patient.

I can promise JP I won't be a dead team next week in the GEKKO league. I can't make the playoffs but there is too much at stake for a couple of other teams.

Gordon, seriously, do you really think a season-long national contest without head-to-head is appealing? Do you really think it would be fun without some type of win or loss feeling at the end of each football week? Would it really be more fun just accumulating points through 16 or 17 weeks? I can understand you coming up with a better mouse trap when it comes to determining the best team in each league and the best league payout format, but do you really believe that abandoning h2h for total points is the best way to go?
I may be an old, hardened man, but there's just something special about winning or losing each week in football, and fantasy football included. I'll await all your good ideas and the "teams that got screwed this year due to h2h" as you say and more in the coming weeks. But h2h is a must in my book and a must in the NFFC.

Greg,
what do you say to the team (let’s call him Team A) that plays against teams that score (on the average) 136 pts each week? in the same league there’s a Team B that plays against teams that score (on the average) 107 pts each week. so, through NO fault of Team A, he is facing a team that will score 29 more pts each week than Team B. there are other issues too.
alas, this subject could take many more pages and countless hours…of which I don’t have right now. makes good discussion in the off-season.

I can tell you in the LV Auction, I am all but out, but had a great time last night seeing MY game change leads 5-6 times as he had Collins and I had Porter. We each have a few players tonight to keep it fun again.
Mid A is fun, but pts only. I'd have no interest if I was out of it. And now I only look at the roster of the other team still in it. NNoy hasn't made a FA move in 5 weeks. Don't blame him. Note: I know that this league had to be pts only, so no blame to the creators.
H2H ain't perfect for sure. But I love the beauty in that cuz that's what we had from the start back in the '80's (and that the other sports are so definable, especially hoops). I think GG is on the right track here. You need to have the best teams on both ends make it to the final round and/or be rewarded.
There is also something that needs to be said for rewarding the weekly grind of the season. In trying to max every point, every week, no matter what obstacles get in the way. I had 5 injuries Week 2. I have battled every week and not for a second do I think I have the best team in that league, but if J.Jones didn't get hurt, I'd be right there (210 to 77 in 5 weeks). All of us can make that kind of statement though. Many times, not most, the team with the most points is simply the luckiest team in terms of least amount of injuries and is not the best team. Anyone with Holmes, Moss and the like will understand this.

p.s.
On dead teams...
I would send them one warning. If the problem persists, they don't get invited back. I would state this in the rules. I have and it works. You will never eliminate the problem though.
What happens 95% of the time is that an owner has an everyday problem that prevents him from making a pickup or lineup move, so you have to give him that first mulligan.
