Enjoy the summer weather. It seems like we've gone 11 months without seeing the sun and now we've had it for almost a week!! Maybe it's a sign that good times lie ahead: Good weather, the start of the NFL season and another Packers' Super Bowl title!!

An IMPORTANT Three Weeks For All Of Us
Hey, see our bitching on this thread seemed to work yesterday. The NFL is closer to a deal and Congress may have come up with a plan to raise the debt ceiling for Obama. Hey, I'm not one for more debt but it's inevitable right now and shutting down the government isn't the answer. It's time to work together on the debt problem and make some tough choices to balance our yearly budget going forward. We HAVE to do that as a country.
Now, let's get this country moving in the right direction and the NFL settlement is the first step forward. I'll leave the politics to others, but shutting down the federal government was beyond stupid if it got that far.

Amen, Greg. Frustrating times FOR SURE. Two comments: 1) Too much greed on both the players & owners side. Once an agreement is reached, and FINALLY it looks like it well, 2 things I predict: a) There will not be enough money given to the veterans & their health and pension benefits. After all, it is through their contributions and sacrifices that today's players & owners benefit, b) Both players & owners will not be totally happy with the final CBA.
Regarding the Federal Government, IF our founding fathers had the same beliefs that our "Annointed One" & Congress believe, OUR COUNTRY WOULD NOT EXIST. All of the risks & sacrifices for freedom being flushed down the toilet each day...fewer & fewer freedoms, more rules, higher taxes and socialism.
Enough of the rant...let get ready for some football...GET 'ER DONE!!!!!!!!

An IMPORTANT Three Weeks For All Of Us
Well, we knew that these were going to be three tough weeks for our favorite pastime and our government. I think the NFL got the deal right and we're all happy that it's for 10 years with no opt outs. We're in good shape with the NFL and our fantasy football hobby.
I don't know if the government got it right tonight, but if we avoid a default on Tuesday it can't be all bad. It looks like nobody is really happy with the deal, but at least it's a deal.
Is anyone happy that two deals are in place? Let's hope the government one works out. I'm just glad both are in place for now and we can move forward. Two weeks ago it didn't look good for either one. Thoughts?
