Can this FA drop be allowed?
Paul/Rick, all good thoughts and we'll definitely take a look at that going forward. For now, we'll go with our rule whereby the NFFC has the ability to void certain player drops at our discretion. Honestly, Greg and I don't believe this will even be an issue. It happened only 2 or 3 times during the entire baseball season and I would be surprised if we had to deal with it more than that (and quite probably less or not all) during the football season.
But we'll see how it goes.

Gordan, looks like you will lose Moss for our key matchup week 7 in the Invitational and, of course, Andre Johnson dinged but on a bye anyway.
I picked up Droughns in the Main and Auction but not in the Invitational. That pickup made your team really dangerous so I have to hope you lose a couple in the middle of the season and don't make the 4 team playoff.
Droughns has made my Auction team a juggernaut. I have Holmes, Tiki and Droughns. My problem will be who to start when I'm looking at Moulds, Kerry Colbert, Drew Bennett, and Brandon Stokely with reserves Andre Davis and Kennison. The first 4 are averaging from 12.7 to 17.6 pts per week. Would be nice to package a RB and a WR for Culpepper

The Gekko Invitational Team was a classic. I already lost Steve Smith and J.Jones for the year. my T.Henry pick isn't doing me any favors. Could have been a GREAT team. Now I lose R.Moss. Why can't I catch a break? Frustrating with this kind of money on the line. can't believe i'm 4-2 with those kinds of bad beats. maybe Droughns can be the savior?

Guys, just to interject here if I may. We do not have a steadfast rule about not being able to cut players drafted in the first three rounds or top 100 or anything like that because obviously things happen during the course of a season and a rule like that doesn't make sense. However, we analyze every weekly drop and if something stands out we have the right to make that owner keep that player on his roster if we feel it will jeopardize the integrity of the overall contest. Obviously making that determination is up to our discretion, but you've trusted me up to this point so I hope you'll trust me on these decisions as well. If a team owner is dealing with a litany of injuries and has no choice but to cut a star, then we'll analyze that as well and make the best decision possible.
This week Gordon has red-flagged the fact that Tyrone Wheatley and Jonathan Wells were among the weekly cuts. These are interesting cuts, but not cuts that jeopardize the integrity of the contest. I would assume these team owners needed to make tough cuts in order to work through the byes this week and we understand that. We will certainly allow these cuts.
Trust me, we're not worried about doing extra work around here. We want to give every owner the flexibility to manage their 18-man roster to the best of their ability and we want each league to have access to the same caliber of free agents. We can make that happen with the rules that are currently in place with the NFFC.

It wouldn't be after the fact. The pickup would still be allowed, it's a matter of cutting a different player from his reserve from that week. Nobody would have a chance to pick up the free agent in question between Friday and Monday morning anyways, so nobody would be affected and the "star" would be back on that teams roster before FAAB started.
You know we were on top of this for baseball and we'll be on top of this for football, Gordon, but it makes for good Message Board fodder. There are problems with a steadfast rule like the WCOFB uses as well and I have no intention of going down the path as even early picks eventually can be so bad that they make for smart cuts. But I'll look for your suggestions and comment when needed.

using a draconian list made up of the top 100 players or first 4 rounds is comical.
would need to be a dynamic list from week to week.
