Add D/K to Flex?

Not sure if it's a downside, but it doesn't quite seem right. Is it just me? sure, it might not feel right at first. FAAB didn't feel right the first time you were introduced to it either. thanks for all the comments so far.
anyone else have any thoughts?

The effect of this would make kicker's value a hotter commodity. I don't see too many people putting in a defense over a kicker, but if you have kickers as an option for flex, you'd have to use D's too. QB's are out of the question because with 14 teams, it would totally change the drafts. Just my opinion.

I have to say that I am strongly opposed to this suggestion.
The top 14 D/ST of 2005 averaged around 8.5 pts/game. With the new scoring rules for 2006, that ppg should climb to about 10. This gives owners facing bye week and injury problems an "out" by allowing them to insert a 10 pt starter into the lineup that is easily available on the waiver wire or is already on their roster. I am against most rules that make it easier to manage rosters. I believe roster management is a major factor in the NFFC. And I should know, as everyone may remember, since I was left without a starting QB 2 years ago due to a roster management decision. I've learned from that incident but if other owners put themselves in postiions to make mistakes, so be it. A short 18 man roster coupled with 6-team bye weeks should make it very interesting this season.

EVERY owner has the same opportunity.
also, why do you assume (if this rule where enacted) that starting kickers and defenses would be "easily available on the waiver wire"?

While it is true that all owners have the same chance at roster management, this rule will make it EASIER to fill starting roster for owners with roster issues. I don't want it to be easier.
I'd rather not publicly discuss waiver wire availabilites and strategies that would be affected by this rule change.
I am against MOST rules that make it easier to manage rosters like larger rosters and D/ST as Flex. The FAAB dealine is just more sensible due to the release of the Injury report. It doesn't necessarily make it easier.

Gekko and Nag at it again ... all is right with the world again.
I see both side's on this one. I agree it's not the objective to make it easy to manage your team (convenient is different than easy).
I think I like the idea of forcing an owner to make hard choices. 10 points a game is too much for a plug player ... maybe we only let kickers in the flex (no defenses). Or maybe we all struggle a little and grow from our pain ... no stinking kickers as flex players either? I'm not sure I like the idea of having to play one kicker let alone two!
We let kickers fill in the flex in our home league ... but it's got new owners who need this rule to cover for their lack of attention (at times).
I vote no kickers or defenses in the flex position ... and if you must let in kickers ... definitely no Defenses! But more importantly ... Please do not let this rule in the Draft Champions league.
