I'd guess a smaller reason to post the drops each week is so we catch things that look out of place.
Everyone failed.
~Lance the MB failed???? sorry i didn't know that was part of our "responsibilities" as participants. i was looking through the leagues 2nite after faab ran and saw that manning was picked up and couldn't believe it!!!

No one complained, as it was a legitimate drop - the team that cut him was loaded at QB. There is no reason to pull a player that was legitimately dropped. That is part of the essence of the contest, the difference between teams and rosters in various leagues. Since our league had a guy that needed a bye week TE AND had too many good QBs AND had to deal with an 18 man roster, THEN a solid QB got dropped. Look, Eli Manning is not a stud like LT or Brady, he is a pretty good QB that was dropped by a guy that has 1 uber-stud and another very good QB. He did not need him and could not afford (due to the smaller rosters) to keep 3 quarterbacks. He made the conscious choice to drop him, and I made the conscious choice to outbid 13 other owners to pick him up. There is no controversy here at all.
These drops were posted 4 days ago, and every NFFC owner had a chance to review them prior to tonight. dave - did you know that greg pulled bulger from the free agent pool prior to the discussion tonight?

I'm just guessing that a perk of posting all the drops is us MB folks helping the event spot oddities. NOT our duty...just a perk.

You are #82. I am #66. I have a problem with the fact I don't have a shot at Manning.
And you're analogy doesn't work for me.
Manning is 7th in QB pts, and 9th in QB avg with QB's that have played 5 games.
T.O. is ranked 10th at WR points.
With Housh, Cotch, Holmes, Bowe, Welker, Cal Johnson, I could argue that I don't need Cotchery, drafted above Eli, and waive him for a need, but that would not be fair to the CONTEST if I did.

Gekko - not 1 of the 13 other owners in my league seemed to raise a fuss or complain over Eli being dropped. That includes Team Legacy and Shep from Mad Badgers. I also did not complain and if someone had gotten him for $500 - good - more power to them.

[/QUOTE]I see jOHNz. So, since the #1 team in your 18 man roster, 10 man starter NFFC league did not have an extra startable QB to drop to get a TE and you could not get that extra startable QB, THEN, IN MY LEAGUE, I should now be penalized for bidding my last $350 to pick up that waiver player that was rightfully dropped and rightfully available to all players and teams in my league.
I do not need to answer to Gekko - this is not an inquisition. I made a waiver pickup and spent the rest of my bidding dollars (save $5) to do so. I am now handicapped for the rest of the season, so maybe this move will backfire on me. Maybe not, who knows. Remember how Warner was such a brilliant move last week? Everyone that started him got 2 points or less.
If you had 7 stud WRs and WERE FORCED to waive Cotchery to pickup a TE for a week when 6 NFL teams were on bye, that would be acceptable in my opinion, as these are 18 man rosters and 10 man starting lineups. The fact that you have had so many great players on your team has already handicpaped the rest of the league, so it is only fair that someone else gets a shot at him if you cannot afford to keep him and keep your roster intact. Sometimes, one does not have much of a choice.
Did it affect the fairness of the contest that Green Bay and my NFFC were robbed of a fairly earned, stat-changed point and Fitzgerald had an extra catch that he did not earn, after stat changes came out? Oh wait, it was too late to change anything then.

Isn't that a by-product of the 8 man bench?
Just my opinion.
If he dropped Anderson...(the 4th ranked QB in points per game)...I doubt you'd fuss so much.
