Week 17 Pick'em
That was a very tough game to wager on. I would have stayed clear of it though I have been out of this contest for a few weeks now.
About tonights game: I was most annoyed by hearing Gumbel and Collinsworth say about 100 times that the Giants should basically be rewarded or knighted because they are playing so darn hard with nothing on the line. "Nothing on the Line", are you f'n kidding me? How about playing hard for a paycheck? How about playing hard for the fans? I came real close to launching something at my tv every time they made those friggin comments.

How about Collinsworth's quote..."The 16-0 means nothing without the superbowl".
Only 2 times in HISTORY, and it means nothing? And I think the Dolphins only went 14-0.
Now we ALL know that the superbowl is the only thing you should be aiming for in the NFL, but to say that an undefeated regular season means nothing is demeaning, to say the least. I'm starting to dislike every commentator...Next year, we should have NFFC member calls a few games and see if the ratings go up or down. If they go up...GOODBYE TO EVERY FREAKIN' EX-NFL PLAYER WHO NOW CALLS GAMES FOR A LIVING....I'll be the next Mel Allen if yu give me the chance!

Week 17 Pick'em
Marc, I kinda agree with Collinsworth....16-0 and NO superbowl....seems like a wasted season to me. Their ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl, so unless they acheive this feat...isn't it a wasted season? Sure, they were the first team to go 16-0, but the regular season doesn't matter to a team like the Patriots. Ask Randy Moss what he wants, undefeated regular season or that ring.
I know it doesn't compare, but look at the Chargers from last season...14-2, yet their season was a major disappointment...Why?? because of what they did in the playoffs.
I would rather play on the 6th seeded Steelers who won the Super Bowl than the 16-0 Patriots who LOST in the playoffs.
There's been 4 teams, I believe, who've gone undefeated in the regular season. Only the Dolphins are talked about since they won the Super Bowl...I know, the others were pre-Super Bowl, but they did lose the championship game.
Real players play for championships, not regular season feats.
BTW, after the games today....it looks like Marc will have more $$$$ than all of us together. The Jets are getting beat, period AND the Packers aren't going to cover either .

Only four weeks to go, assuming the Pro Bowl doesn't count. Marc, I wouldn't spend that grand just yet, but you're in the Pole Position with a two lap lead
