Folks, we've had this discussion before. Stay on topic if at all possible and if I see anyone changing posts within their posts I'll delete them. You can copy the quotes as they are, but it's unfair to the original poster to change those quotes and attribute them to him. STOP THAT. thanks greg. the MB is too important to allow someone to do that. i'll be calling you after lunch.

Mark

I did not get the pleasure of meeting you unfortunately, but i wish I had a dime for every person who's emailed me about you. Where there is smoke, there is fire dude. Why don't you tone it down a bit? You've got good football knowledge. Let that speak for you sometimes and you'll get more respect.

BTW -Romo broken pinky!

SUBJECT CHANGE!. That's what my seven year old son says to me when he doesn't want to talk to me about something. Priceless. I wish I could do that in my business.

Anyway

Ailments: I have a team that has the following:
1. Two turf toes
2. Suspension
3. Swollen nuts
4. Broken pinky

What possibly could next? Hemerhoids?

This week I was out bid on 2 of my TE's that I wanted to pick up. My TE has a bye week this week. So the next day I tried to pick up another tight end that I didnt bid on previously and guess what. There is only 1 FA pick up day a week. So since I was out bid on 2 TE's I have to play a TE that has a bye week. Every other league has a waiver period and then players are open to be picked up or dropped. Why would this league not do that? I will not play this league next year due to the FA rule. Zeus, I can understand your frustration but the FAAB timeframe is spelled out pretty clearly in the rules: "Bids will be accepted on the league web site from Tuesday at 9 am ET until Friday at 9 p.m. ET in each of those weeks."

Now to address your point as to why we don't have a second FAAB period, I'll do that now. It's a worthy point of discussion and I apologize that more folks couldn't address this better.

First of all, we have a new FAAB system that easily allows you to put in 10 conditional bids for a position with the same player getting cut. IT would take you an extra 2 minutes to select 8 more tight ends and assign $1 to each to make sure you get one of those guys. I hope everyone is using this conditional bid feature because it is very easy and takes very little time.

Secondly, if we did offer you a chance to pick up free agents after FAAB, it would be impossible to do it on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doing it like Yahoo does or Sportsline does in a high-stakes event just wouldn't be fair as it would favor the owners who sit at their computer and correct the mistakes they made on Friday. Could this format be done for a second free agent pickup? Yes. Would it be ideal for this format? I don't think so.

So the only other alternative would be a second FAAB period, possibly on Sunday morning. That's an option worth discussing, especially after what happened in Week 2. Maybe the minimum cost of adding any free agent on that date is $50 so that it's costly for folks who got lazy on Friday and didn't make enough conditional bids. Again, this is a better point worth discussing and it's one that could be implemented to help folks like you and folks like those who suffered in week 2.

thanks man.
