LIVE SCORING....PLAYOFFS!

Post by pizzatyme » Sat Dec 11, 2010 8:28 am

NFFC could differentiate themselves and NOT do live scoring! Just kidding Greg!!!

Maybe it's time to just write this season off and look forward to all of these fixes in place for next year?!

GK, do yourself a favor bro and let others speak for themselves. Take the road less traveled here. ;)

Good luck to everyone in the hunt for fame and fortune.

STATS has created a link this year that allows all NFFC owners a chance to view the live scoring in the Championship Rounds. Right now teams in the Championship Round can view live scoring for all other teams in the championship. A link will appear on the overall standings page when the game starts tonight to allow all other teams to view the scoring too. Enjoy all and good luck.

Greg
I went back to find this because I was 100% sure we had a big tote board then. ALL teams updated in real time.

I went back to find this because I was 100% sure we had a big tote board then. ALL teams updated in real time. I was talking to Billy about the exact thing earlier. We could click on any team in the playoffs and their live score would appear next to our own.
I was a little confused with the statement that we've never had that in the playoffs. I assumed Greg was referring to live updated standings.

Then you look at the whole NFFC package. Great live event, good payouts for live events, 3RR and KDS for draft spots, 14 team leagues, responsive league managers (Greg and Tom), and good player scoring balance between positions, 3RR and KDS for draft spots (it's worth repeating). It's really easy for me personally to look past the live scoring feature this year.

I'll take better game features over live finals scoring any day of the week. I might be good to have access to others teams rosters at some point, but live scoring is just fluff ... nice fluff ... but just fluff IMO.

Ugly While I certainly, and I have to believe most of us agree with the positive sentiments of the post above, I completely disagree that live scoring is just fluff.

I've been pushing for real time live overall standings since baseball season because I believe any contest with these stakes and of this magnitude should have it and that it's a critical component to the positive experience provided to us, the customers.

That said, I'm sure Greg will make sure the promise that real time live overall standings will be implemented by next year's baseball and football seasons is kept.
I'm also sure that Greg is making sure everything possible is being done to address the live scoring issues everyone's mentioning here by tomorrow's games.

I would say being able to see starting line ups as the Noon hour approaches (especially the last week of playoffs) is more than fluff. If in serious contention, decisions on line ups may change last second based on what other high total teams have for line ups. That is the part I am most interested in. Not being able to see the actual scoring live is more fluff..... nice fluff as it was put

That's not to say we don't want to improve the product for everyone who takes part. We'll continue to work hard to do that. But the statement above makes no sense to me. Sorry.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but it seems to me since the earliest of satellites this year, you and Greg have been taking bullets?! It seems that the programmers have been playing catch up all year. I'm sure it's just my erroneous perception.

I did take part in a live satellite that ultimately had to be done via slow draft style, partly on this MB. I'm still not happy about that, but I decided to write it off as the first year of the Fanball/NFFC marriage.

I have to wait until Tuesday to see results without calculating them myself for the DC I am currently leading. That, to me, is a source of frustration, but again, I have written it off as "growing pains".

I'm sure it has been a successful year for Fanball/NFFC, I just haven't felt the excitement and I apologize for that. I'm sure it's just me.

That, for me, are the reasons I stated what I stated.

Hey Snake. You can see everyone's lineups. It is not a convenient way of getting to it at all but it is there. I posted the instructions on how to do it this morning if you are interested.
I have to agree with Russ on all of this.

The fact is, it seems like the PLAYERS have had to request a lot of things this ENTIRE YEAR that either should of been done or are things that the NFFC has had in the past and didn't (or still don't) have.

The IT department has been a nightmare from the word "go", and it would be nice if some of them (or dare I say Ryan himself!!! ) could come on here and explain some things, rather than having a liaison (Greg or Tom) doing it.

That being said, I have always applauded Greg and Tom's efforts in making this a fun contest. :D
