NFL 2008 "Pick'em Share Pool"

Post by Diesel » Wed Sep 03, 2008 1:40 pm

This is a crazy time of year for many people. I'm sorry to the 10-12 people I had to turn down, but I knew this last minute rush would happen. The season starts tomorrow and I didn't want to scramble around at the last minute signing people up. It's hard enough with 91...For those who couldn't enter, please sign up early next year. I started the signups in JUNE...

Good luck to everyone. I sent 90 emails tonight. If you haven't signed up yet, let's get a fire under yer arse and get going!

This is going to be fun, again! Thanks for handling everything Marc. Thanks for entering Patrick. I AM still scorned by KJDUKE last year. That irked me BIG TIME. GreenBay losing to the Giants in Lambeau? It just wasn't supposed to be! And to add insult to injury, I had SNAKE PM'ing me telling me NOT to do it...I was in a bad mood for a few weeks last post-season...Oh yeah, I ALSO lost the $10,000 Post Season contest when Plaxico caught that TD in the 4th quarter. So I can now officially say the Giants can kiss my "Tank Abbott" looking asss...
Hey Marc...if memory serves me correctly, that Burress TD got me 2nd place in that contest. Sorry it had to hurt you. ;)

Primo
Richie, you should be REALLY Happy, because the Giants lost a fan because of that play. I just couldn't celebrate the Giants superbowl last year, knowing it cost me $9750...Bitter-Sweet isn't even the word. More like just bitter.
C'mon, Marc...you're not gonna tell me you didn't throw down a wager on the G-Men, are you? That would have eased the pain at least a little.

Primo, I guess I should have hedged the bet, but I didn't have the foresight to do that. I was working nights at the time and I didn't even watch the superbowl live. I had Stephen Jupinka calling me with updates. No tv, and the radio I had didn't have good reception on the AM dial...It was a tough night. But I'll make it up this year! ;)

Russ, if I allowed Parlays, I would have had to charge everyone to run this contest. There are a LOT of questions from everyone now, and there are only point spreads and over-unders...I would have to make this my second job with parlays involved!!

Not that I will ever be near the computer, but I believe if we hit on a 1:00 game we can turn right around and bet again on a 4:15 game.

Is this correct?

Anybody laying it all on the BOY'S in week-1?

Ken,

As long as the 1PM game ends in time for the website to update the shares, you'll be able to wager your new shares for the 4-4:15 game. If the games end very close, the shares may not be updated, and you may have to wait for the late game.
