Someone explain it again. If die-hards like Joe and myself don't get it right away, how are the masses to understand it when they are choosing contests? Greg, I'm not sure what Victory points are either but what about my post above where you play all 11 or 13 other teams in your league each week? Do you think that would be too confusing for a first time HSFF player?

I'm trying to think back to my first year here and figure out what I thought were the pros and cons of joining the NFFC were back then...and I'm drawing a blank of course I know part of it was the thrill of real good competition and the prize money. I talk to friends who play "just for fun" or 50 bucks for the whole year and they think I am nuts for playing in the Classic for $1400. Everyone is wired differently cause I think THEY are the nutty ones!
I guess what I'm trying to ask is who is your target customer?
Is it that guy or girl thirsting for more action? Is it the guy or girl who wins his local league every year? Is it both? I think the guy or girl who is going to put down that kind of money is willing to learn the rules. I also think that they have already had some experience in playing fantasy football. They may have to make slight adjustments to the rules. I don't think they look at the NFFC and say I can't figure this out!

Just as an FYI: We do track teams in the Breakdown format in all NFFC leagues. Just click on Standings and Breakdown is the last link there. Check it out and see if it made any difference in your league standings.

I would like to weigh in on this discussion. Not sure if it would appeal most to the masses, but I would much prefer all play. If you have the 4th highest point total for the week, you get 10 wins and 3 losses. Could we have a few leagues offered that are like this? Keep the current system for most leagues. One playoff spot for best record and the rest by points. I would really like to play in a league where it was all head to head against all teams each week. Run the 3 weeks of playoffs in all play mode as well.

Another suggestion I have thought about a lot last couple years. The top QB´s are blowing up our scoring system with some of these 4 and 5 TD games and over 400 yards. Should we keep the QB TD passes at 6 points? Wouldn´t make more sense to lower the QB TD pass to maybe 4 points?

How often does that happen with other positions?

The "breakdown" is too close to all-play, it will kill any interest in weekly W and L. Forget it or you'll lose everyone that enjoys H2H matchups.

Victory Points is as follows:
2 points for a H2H Win each week
0 points for a loss

plus
2 points for top 4 scoring teams each wk
1 point for next 4 scoring teams
0 points for bottom 4 scoring teams

In a 14-team league I suppose you'd just add 2 teams to the middle for 1 point each week.
