Greg,
To answer your question seriously I am likely as hard core a fantasy guy as you are going to find in that I am only at the event to draft. Care less about partying.. care less about drinking.. care less about eating.. care only about the football and how big that day is in relation to how much fun my fall and winter will be.
So the assumption would be if we could have it shorted to 15 minutes between drafts I would go for it.
Having said that.. I have no problem with 3 hours. That gives us some time to break down the boards from the draft we just had... Do a little preparing for the next draft... and grab a bite to eat. We have to keep in mind the NFFC staff in each city needs time to not only set up but also get a bite to eat or a bit of a break. The draft is long for them too.
If a 3rd event were added I can understand where that could change things and require less downtime.
I can go either way.
2 hours or 3 hours???

Pete This is a solid thread and I appreciate the input, but from our standpoint I need to make sure we can get the rooms cleaned up from the first draft and the next draft set up in a quick enough time to keep everyone happy. I thought we did a great job in each location whipping up the rooms for the next draft and in most cases our staffers did the turnaround rather than wait for hotel staff to get it done. A two-hour turnaround is pushing it a bit, I believe, but we'll see.
In Las Vegas, all first drafts were done by 12:30 and we cleaned the U's and took out of the old boards and set up the new boards before 2:00. That gave our staff time to refresh, get a bite to eat and then welcome the next drafters at 3:00. If we started at 3:00, the next set of drafters would be walking into our cleanup efforts and staffers would be hard-pressed to get a break. But we'll see how it plays out.
Again, in Las Vegas there seemed to be less of a resolve to limit it to two hours since there was plenty to do in the interim at the Flamingo. But we'll consider a two-hour split and what the heck maybe try for the Trifecta at night with another draft. Seriously, we'll talk this through and appreciate the input. [/QUOTE]All good points that we all don't see when our eyes are glazed over looking at the completed NFFC drafts!
I think having it as two hours and possibly adding an additional contest that evening would be great.
Just a suggestion.... would it be possible to get "volunteers" for a break-down/setup crew in between the NFFC and NBC drafts in EACH city?
For example, if you had 7 leagues in a particular city, you could get 7 volunteers to help take down the NFFC boards, and set up things for the NBC drafts. If you had one person do this for each league (helping your already hired help), I think you could knock this out in no time.
Not sure how others feel about this, but I for one would volunteer for this in a heartbeat if it meant adding another possible event (the one I suggested to you in Chicago via e-mail) and cutting the between time to 2 hours.
Like Renman, I just want to draft as much as possible!
I can sleep and eat on Sunday.

It depends on the city. I'm not sure about Vegas or Chicago, but in NY there are certain things we are not allowed to do because the union workers are doing them. And the last thing any of us wants to do is cross a union worker.

Chicago would be no problem for two hours and we proved we could do it in Las Vegas as the Flamingo is great to work with. But I still think three hours felt just right out in Las Vegas with so many college football games at the sportsbook between drafts.
Anyway, we'll look this over and figure it out. We want all drafts simultaneous and we'll see what the staff thinks is best. Thanks for the input all and definitely in Las Vegas we'll have time for even more drafts on Saturday night if anyone wants to really make a day out of it. We'll just need to set them up in advance so that we have enough draft boards on hand.

2 hours or 3 hours???
two hours sounds better to me
i would have liked to recall some of the people and conversations from NYC, but that extra hour meant more time at the bars
as it is, all i can remember is eddie gillis talking to me about some mc hammer commercial... "whose beeper keep beepin and beepin"
two (2) hours
