Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Jul 28, 2006 8:42 am

The new signups keep coming in as we welcome Lewis Lipsey of Los Angeles, California to the growing NFFC family. Lewis is an original member of our National Fantasy Baseball Championship and has competed in our main event, auction leagues and Ultimate Leagues in the NFBC for the last three years. Lewis hasn't competed in our NFFC before, but we trust he will be even more successful in football than baseball. Lewis has signed up for the main event at the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas as we're close to filling up our fifth main event league out there. It's great to have you back for football, Lewis, and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

We're glad to welcome back another member from last year's contest who was in line to win the $100,000 grand prize. Let's give it up for Ryan Houston of O'Fallon, Missouri and Fantasyfootball.com. Ryan had one of the most dominant teams during the regular season, winning New York League 8 and $5,000 with a 12-1 record (NFFC best) and placing second overall with 1,936.10 points. He then finished in the Top 20 in the Championship Round with 524.19 points, but he hasn't stopped thinking about that $100,000 since last December! :D We're going to get Ryan into one of our live chats with Tom soon and then all of you guys and gals can pick his brain (it's right under that bald head!). :D Welcome back Ryan and best of luck once again this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Jul 28, 2006 11:27 am

We're going to reach 200 for the main event soon enough as today we've added six more paid signups to the event. Let's give it up for the return of Steve Lightfoot of Hurst, Texas as Steve is joining us again at the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Steve led his Texas Heat team to a 6-7 record in Las Vegas League 4 last year, finishing with 1,463.6 points. Steve is excited about the upcoming season and is hoping for a money finish. Welcome back Steve and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Lewis Lightfoot, Steve's dad, is also returning to the main event in Las Vegas after a run at the $100,000 grand prize last year. Lewis won Las Vegas League 2 and $5,000 last year with a 10-3 record, placing 82nd overall with 1,615.25 points. Lewis then finished 32nd in the Championship Round with 472.6 points. Congratulations on a great run, Lewis, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize this year and the $5,000 league prize.

Steve and Lewis will also team up in the Draft Champions League this year in Las Vegas. They KNOW they can do better than last year's Texas Heat team that cooled down too quickly. Again, welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 league prize.

Solid everyone!!! Let's keep 'em coming this weekend and fill all of these leagues up.

Let's give it up for yet another new member of the growing NFFC family as William Vainowski of Villa Park, Illinois just signed up for the NFFC Draft Champions League at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Friday, Sept. 1st. We now have 16 signups for that one as we're working on a second DC League in Chicago. William is new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome him into this unique event. Thanks for your trust and support William and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back yet another NFFC owner who had a good shot at the $100,000 grand prize last year as William Jansons of Arlington Heights, Illinois has agreed to compete again on Saturday, Sept. 2nd in the main event at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott. William led his Headhunters 2005 team to an 11-2 record and $5,000 in winning Chicago League 3 as he finished 16th overall with 1,779 points. Headhunters 2005 then finished 16th in the Championship Round with 529.9 points, capping off a great year for William. Congrats once again, William, and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back Scott Simonetti of Centerreach, New York to the NFFC as he just signed up for the $650 New York Auction League for Friday, Sept. 1st. Scott has been in the NFFC Auction League the last two years, winning the title in 2004 and then losing out in the playoffs last year. His Fandango team went 7-6 last year and earned a playoff spot with 1,535.85 points before losing to eventual champion RI Workhorse in the first round of the playoffs. We're glad to have you back again Scott and wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in league prizes.

We now have 14 full leagues for the main event thanks to the return of Randy Barbour of Cockeysville, Maryland. Randy will be joining us for the main event at the Stardust Resort & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 2nd and I think he's recruited another team to compete there as well. Randy won an NFFC league title in 2004, but his team fell on hard times last year, finished 3-10 in Las Vegas League 1. Randy is currently competing in the NFBC and has been an original member of our baseball and football events since 2004, so it's good to have him back with us in Las Vegas. The first beer is on me, Randy, so best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Now, let's get to 200 and beyond so we can fill this up! :D

Danny Mitlof of Congers, New York has just signed up for the $650 Auction League at the New York Hilton on Friday, Sept. 1st as we now have 16 owners for that one in the Big Apple. Let's keep it going and see if we can get two full leagues. Danny is currently in our AL Auction League in New York for baseball and he competed in satellite leagues with us last year. Welcome aboard Danny and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000+ in league prizes.

:D You said "Cockeysville"...lol :D

Okay, on a serious note....Greg, I noticed you have 15 names on the NY Auction signup sheet. Will you be accepting the first 14 applicants for this event, and then keeping everyone after #14 as a stand-by? Just curious...

Yeah, that's the plan or we go for a second full auction league with the first 14 guaranteed in a full one. We have two owners on that list who are juggling their schedules to get in, so I don't mind going past 14. Something always seems to come up and we're good for more signups in New York, if you know what I mean. ;)
