I have (arguably), the best WR group in the league. I have Harrison, Holt, Moulds, Branch(inj) and Glenn. As backups for bye week or injury problems I have Karl Williams (14 pts last week) and Bobby Wade (13 pts last week).
My QBs are solid with a QBBC team of Plummer and Green.
Obviously when you draft depth at WR, your RBs suck. My only starter, in the NFL sense, is Wheatley. Would you suggest that I continue to start FBs or backups as my RB2 or take a shot that Henry becomes a legit starter. If Henry gives me 10-12 points a game I will be competitive every week (except week 10 when both are on bye).
So, bottom line, I have nothing to lose. If Henry works out, I could move up in the standings. If he doesn't, I wasn't going to have a chance anyway.
As to the amount, with 4 weeks gone I have no time to take a chance on being outbid. Liquid's team also needed a RB, having a similar situation to mine. It was time to go for it and I did.
I'm just happy to win the guy. I would argue that our WR stable is better than yours and stats will prove it at end of season.
BTW - our first choice was Alstott so I can't complain
WOW.... this sounds like a challenge!
Holt, Harrison, Moulds, & Branch (or another)
.VS.
Ward, C.Johnson, A.Johnson, & Porter
The two of you do have GREAT WR's! I am actually very pleased with Horn and Roy Williams. Now if K-Rob can get his head out of his a$$ or Caldwell is a consistent 15 per week, my WR's may actually be able to play in "yall's neighborhood"too! (And maybe Boldin will come back in "good form" which would really help out!)
As far as Alstott and Bettis, it is a toss-up IMO. Pittman is going to be carrying the rock (ala Duce), so the only contributions either will probably make will be at the goal line "occasionally".
I will admit that you are the team to beat in NY6. You have a well balanced attack and should take H2H and total points in our league. We just wanna be in 2nd in points so we get to the top 32. Anything can happen at that point.
As far as Alstott, we just needed someone desperately to fill in this week. If you look at our draft, we started out with Deuce in @ 1.4 and with his injury, we still havent given up and fight each and every week.
I wonder if Ico and I were the only people to go WR-WR-WR-WR in rounds 2-5. We went this route because in NY6...there were some decent drafters who took quality players at their ADP and lower.
Getting higher caliber WR's would ensure that we can be competitive no matter what happens in regard to injuries , bye weeks, etc.
One last thing....doesnt help that we play you in Week #7 when we have Hines Ward and Andre Johnson on a bye week....
But I can safely say that you will see Keary Colbert and Timmy Brown!

BTW Billy Waz...
What are the odds that Team Dimeo leaves in QB Hasselback on his bye week instead of putting in Brunell ?
We may have the first team abandonment!

I'm curious if he leaves him in out of frustration myself. As for me, why all the hating? You sure do have me set in your scopes. Do you hope all my players get injured week in and week out?

What would happen if a team was abandoned? The powers that be should address this now, just in case it happens.
Fortunately, the team in question has not been abandoned (despite a top-5 player on the IR but still on the roster and no free agent pickups).

Hello. My name is Lee Scoresby. I come from Texas, like flying hot-air balloons, being eaten by talking polar bears and fantasy football.

We like our receiver's chances each week. Now if only Ladainian can kick into gear maybe we can really split some skulls!!!

I have to admit it (I don't know how many of my fellow owners can) the FA bid caught me totally off guard as I underestimated it's usage.
I consider myself fairly expert in the ways of Fantasy Football, but the FA cap ($1000.00) and conditional bids and the number of them one has turned out to be the great equalizer and quite a learning experience.
I'm not sitting too bad, need a little more luck than I'd like to admit to, but I still have a good shot at best record in my league.
Anybody care to comment?
John

You know, it's like my wily, old Grandpa Silverio told me....."!Estos pinchis Running Backs no valen pa' pura verga, pendejo!" Which roughly translates to: "It seems to me, that due to the quality of the remaining Running Backs left on the board, you would be better served to now select a few top Receivers, my Grandson."

Comment about what, John? That you're right and waivers do play a big role?
Ok - you're right... waivers do play a big role

Your telling me Torry slipped to pick 27 (assuming you had the #2)? Some people must have been sleeping in that league!
Wait, isn't that Gecko's league???
