Joe - I get what you're saying. But I honestly think that Firday will be used mainly to fill in for a player you hoped was going to play but found out he was still questionable and still not at practice. That 2nd FAAB is sort of a safety net.

Greg,
You have two natioanl contests. Why not have one with 2 FAAB periods and the other with just one. You will get a true read on what your customers think and I doubt it will impact either game. Just an idea.
Also, I don't believe your results are as conclusive as these folks here believe. No, our rules will be consistent for all of our formats going forward. The FAAB that we choose -- thanks to the input of our customers and the thoughts we had before those results -- have pointed us in one direction for all of our games. We will announce everything next week, including rules changes that we've already suggested. PPR for Running Backs will also be consistent for all of our games going forward.
We love the 14-team and 12-team formats, but going forward it makes sense to make the rules, FAAB, even the playoff formats more consistent.
Thanks for the suggestion.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which way the NFFC is going.. The 2 FAAB periods is great for the top players but in my opinion not for the masses. Good luck, I hope it works out for all.
I know this is a bad example, but it just shows you how our favorite sports can screw up a good thing. The NFL is screwing up fantasy football FAAB with these weekly, goofy Thursday Night Games. We all know the best football can't be played 4 days after your previous game, but the NFL is all about TV and they want Thursday Night to be "Must See TV" owned by the NFL. Sucks.
Now here's my analogy: The NCAA couldn't leave a good thing alone with the 64-team perfect bracket. No, they had to add four more teams for play-in games. Not that anyone is going to pick these winning teams against top seeds, but they still have to have Tuesday games and make us wait to fill out our brackets. It's even screwy for the online sites to program this with those games involved. Why even bother NCAA?
Oh, and MLB is adding a 5th playoff team to each league and giving the winning Wild Card team the first two home games in a best-of-five series!!! How stupid is that? If the NFFC ever punished the top teams in each league with fewer points in the first two weeks of the playoffs we'd have owners screaming bloody murder. Yet Bud Selig gets away with this goofy plan of a one-game Wild Card playoff and the Wild Card hosting the start of a 5-game series against the team with the best record. It makes no sense at all.
What's next sports fans?? Pole position drivers being put at the back of the pack in NASCAR? Sure, why not. Crazy.

The bottom line is the financial implications. What is perplexing about the NFL is it impacts the real integrity of the outcome of the season. Teams will now play on short rest all to often, scheduling is nightmare to make it fair for all teams. The bottom line is the owners have the ultimate say and to the majority of them dollars take precedence.
