Gekko,

There are a lot of people that want to take shots at a successful team. You know what that feels like. You and Ema (Teanage Wasteland) had lightning in a bottle last year and you broke up this year to realize that you are not as effective as solo acts. This year was like watching Ace Frehly and Peter Criss launch out on there own. Come on, be happy that Ema let you sing lead on Beth and enjoy the ride.

As far as Team Lumpy, we know our individual contributions and we are all happy with that. I for one am happy to be Tico Torres to Lumpy's Bon Jovi. The drummer, after all, still gets to tap fantasy groupie ass.

Kyle "Skipman" Pope. (drummer of Lumpy's Losers) Great set of analogies there. C'mon Gekko, let's get it going here:

beth, i hear you callin' but i can't come home right now me and the boys are playin' and we just can't find the sound just a few more hours and i'll be right home to you i think i hear them callin' oh, beth what can i do beth what can i do you say you feel so empty that our house just ain't a home and i'm always somewhere else and you're always there alone just a few more hours and i'll be right home to you i think i hear them callin' oh, beth what can i do beth what can i do beth, i know you're lonely and i hope you'll be alright 'cause me and the boys will be playin' all night

Kyle "Skipman" Pope. (drummer of Lumpy's Losers) what lumpy losers has accomplished so far in the nffc is fantastic. which owner (you or derek) is more responsible for Team Lumpy Losers success is a question people may have. care to answer?

as for your brother(?) taking a shot at me, that's all good. i can handle it. but, he needs to be prepared for my return fire. hopefully he takes it all in fun. d.foster over lj is a laugher though

Gekko,

Lumpy's Losers are egoless. As a team we have clearly demostrated a profeciency at this fantasy football thing. As you know, there is no "I" in team. If we start arguing over who is responsible for what it will only rip us apart. We dont want to go the way of Lewis and Dean or Teenage Wasteland. In the Loser organization, everyone has a job to do. If everyone gets their part done, the organization thrives. Take out one small component and the machine comes to a griding halt.

HEY you have to hand it to these guys, look what they have done the last two years. To win the ultimate with out a top 3 pick or even a nu.1 pick at all, very impressive. Also a shot at the main event too , standing at nu.5 with a chance at the 100.000. grand. These guys have my respect , and i know greg thinks their one of the best fantasy teams anywhere.I wish them luck in both events , for the money and FANTASY GLORY.

Greg, it would be wise to hire Lumpy right as away as your Guru analyst. Not only has he, with the help of little brother Kyle "Skipman" Pope, literally "stolen" from the NFFC cookie jar in the first 2 years, I look for him to continue to excel in any format in the NFFC. Lumpy's Losers pocketed 13 grand last year placing 1st in the $650 LV Auction, LV Draft Champions, and their NFFC Main event league.

This year LL made the palyoffs in every NFFC event with a playoff structure, already pocketing $12,500 in the Ultimate with a strong chance at the Ultimate Championship and 27k, and $5000 for 1st place in the main event league. Not to mention being in 5th place 40 points off the lead in the $100K standings with one week to go, and a 2004 #10 finish in the main event.
No question that Lumpy and Kyle have done a FABULOUS job in the NFFC and they deserve every penny they win from us. Not only have they been successful, but I know they've had a lot of fun in this contest and they certainly have their share of fun at the drafts. I'm glad to have them on board.

As for the columnist part, Lumpy already knows my long-term plans with this. It's my goal to create a great fantasy sports content site soon where our top participants would become columnists and even help with the rankings. Imagine if I polled our top 20 or 40 NFFC finishers on their pre-season rankings and came up with an Average Draft Position list? Other sites have used input and reporting from their customers to drive traffic and I honestly believe that we have some of the top fantasy football minds in the industry and it's foolish of me not to turn these guys loose and make them stars.

I haven't yet tapped into the resources that can make the NFBC and NFFC more prominent and in turn attract more fantasy players to our site. Creating a new content site with daily updates, columns and more is on the horizon. And again, I see a good way to incorporate our own staffers and our participants into the mix. It will happen, it's just a matter of time.

To avoid any more bad karma, here are my final thoughts on this.

Thanks for the praise EddidJag, hope it does not tip the fantasy gods in your favor for the Ultimate.

As far as Lumpys Losers, we are co-owners and share equally in any credit we get. Even if Kyle stands #3 Lifetime in NFFC and I show up at #200 for some strange reason.

There is no doubt in my mind that I would be less successful without Kyle, Kyle would be less successful without me. Hopefully, we can avoid a Jerry Jones/Jimmy Johnson situation and not destroy a good thing.

Good luck to all this week.

Keep the posts coming Gekko!

See ya'll in Vegas Sep 2nd.
