Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Aug 02, 2005 8:32 am

Okay, we've reached the 200 mark for the NFFC's main event thanks to three signups from my friends down the road in Wisconsin Rapids. Let's give it up for three more signups for the main event in Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Let's first welcome back Dave Buser of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, who led his Waterboys team to an 8-5 record in Chicago League 4 last year, finishing 91st overall with 1,622 points. The Waterboys then finished 77th overall in the Consolation Round with 501.07 points. Dave will be teamed up with Gene Mushel on Draft Day in Chicago and we're glad to have them back in the NFFC. Thanks for your trust and support once again, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Also in the car pool from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott for the NFFC's main event on Saturday, Sept. 3rd will be Larry Grubofski, who returns for his second season in Chicago. Larry's Bahamas team (named after his bar) struggled in Chicago League 2 last year, but he had so much fun that he's returning for another go-around. Thanks once again for all your support, Larry, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We welcome another new member to the growing NFFC family as Mike McKee of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin will be joining his buddies for the NFFC's main event at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Mike has competed in another high-stakes event the last three years along with his buddies, but the proximity of our Chicago event appealed to him more this year. Mike will be drafting in the main event with Jere Rude, becoming our 48th signup in Chicago and 200th overall. Thanks Mike and Jere for your trust and support and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Mike has also signed up for the $650 NFFC Auction League on Friday, Sept. 2nd, becoming our 10th owner for that league in Chicago. Let's get four more signups for that auction league and close it down. Thanks Mike for joining that one as well and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 league prize.

The signups for Chicago keep coming in today as we welcome back our 125th team from 2004 to the 2005 event. Let's give it up for the tag team of Tori Kaldenberg and Tom Spinoso, who led their She Hate Me team to a 9-4 record in Chicago League 4, finishing 9th overall with 1,875.75 points. They earned $1,750 during the regular season and then finished 11th in the Championship Round with 600.24 points. It was a great, great season for our duo from Madison, Wisconsin and we welcome them back for another run this year. Best of luck Tori and Tom in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, after a busy day we better get back to the signups. Jim Ferrari of San Diego, California has already signed up for the debut NFFC Ultimate on Sunday, Sept. 4th and now he's adding the NFFC Auction League on Friday, Sept. 2nd to his shopping cart. Jim becomes our 27th signup in Las Vegas, leaving us with one open spot for the second full auction league. Thanks Jim and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 in league prizes.

Hector Castro of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey and owner of Auction Players.com (you won't forget his magazine ads!) was surprised to learn that we already had 14 signups for the NFFC Auction League in New York, but he's throwing his hat into the ring today for a second auction league there. We'll gladly take more signups and see how close we can get to a full league before coming up with a new plan. Hector will also be working the drafts in New York on Saturday, so somehow you'll see him. Thanks Hector and let's get you in the auction league and test your knowledge of auctions. Good luck in the hunt for the $4,000 in league prizes.

We're glad to welcome back our 126th team from 2004 to the 2005 main event, although it's missing a key part. The tag team of David Lichtman and David Fisher competed in New York League 6 last year, leading Kate & Halle (you'll have to ask them which one was Kate and which one was Halle) to an 8-5 finish. They scored 1,559.55 points (126th overall) during the regular season and 432.82 points during the Consolation Round. This year David Fisher of North Smithtown, New York and his cousin, Ryan, of Davie, Florida, will be drafting a team at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 3rd, filling up our fifth league in New York. David Lichtman would love to return to the NFFC, but he recently found out that his wife is having twins and that, along with the addition of a new house, has him occupied for the next year. Good luck Mr. Lichtman with the babies and best of luck to David and Ryan Fisher in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Beers are on us in New York!

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Just to set record straight for FI$HER. David and I are first cousins not brothers. We teamed up together in the innagural WCOFF making it to the league championship game. I competed in WCOFF for 2 more years with another league championship under the belt and decided to make the change for several reasons. I can clearly see NFFC is where its at. Greg, you know how to take care of your peops. I look foward to displaying my talents and putting my 15 years of fantasy experience to the test.
