We're on pace for two leagues per night, so keep the signups coming. First-come, first-served in groups of 12 for these leagues.

We're using 3RR/KDS format for basketball and everyone on this list should e-mail their KDS preferences to [email protected] by Friday, Oct. 19 at noon EST.

Roland For owners who aren't familiar with KDS, here is the writeup from our NFFC rules (changed for NFBBC):

In 2007, the NFBBC will implement KDS/3RR, two procedures that will help owners compete for league titles in this 12-team format. KDS stands for Kentucky Derby Style preferences, which allows owners to set their draft preferences in the Main Event. 3RR stands for 3rd Round Reversal, where the serpentine draft goes to 12 to start Round 3 and then continues in serpentine fashion after that.

Here's what KDS does: The KDS process allows owners to rank their order of preference for Draft Day, ranking their preferences 1 through 12 BEFORE the leagues are randomly selected. Some owners would rather draft at the top, if they are selected early in their league; others like to go to the middle, and others like to move down to the lower end. KDS allows that if you're fortunate enough. A sample KDS from an owner could look like this: 1, 2, 3, 12, 11, 8, 6, 7, 4, 5, 9, 10. If an owner wants the 12th pick if he is selected fourth overall in his league, he would choose 12 as his fourth option and he would then be moved to 12th in that league on Draft Day if he was picked fourth out of the hat and the top three preferences were gone. NFBBC officials will look at every owner's Draft Preferences after the leagues and orders are randomly selected and then announce the draft orders for each league.

We're kind of at the mercy of our back-end provider on this, so we'll look over Sportsline's eligibility list and post something here. We are closing in on three leagues for the Saturday, Oct. 27th draft and two leagues for the Thursday, Oct. 25th draft. It looks like we have nine spots open combined. If you want to get into either draft, please contact us very soon. We want to close out these leagues on Friday and pick the draft order by Monday at the latest. Thanks all.

Greg, any chance we can get Bill "The Sports Guy" Simmons to participate this year? I remember he wanted in last year but the leagues were already full.

Tom e-mailed him last week to see if he wanted to get in this year. We haven't heard from him, but we're trying again.

Okay, we have just TWO MORE SPOTS left for next Thursday's league. TWO. Then we'll close out two leagues and be done with it. We have until Friday to close this out, but first-come, first-served for that one. Should be fun. Thanks all. Then we'll find a way to fill three leagues for Saturday, Oct. 27th and be done with it. If you think the Saturday draft is too perilous to fill three leagues and you can move to Thursday, just let me know. I don't want anyone to get shut out.
