ruslerue -- I am as risk averse as the next guy, but using a third-round pick for a RB in the flex spot (who will probably score similarly as 8th round WRs) just in case one of your stud RBs will get hurt is playing it way too safe.
I think Andre Johnson is a much better pick than Jackson -- a fourth round pick on a guy who may never carry the ball more than a few times a game!

Hello. My name is Lee Scoresby. I come from Texas, like flying hot-air balloons, being eaten by talking polar bears and fantasy football.

i took steve smith in the 3rd, but i used my 4th rounder for warrick dunn over say a top 15 receiver.. got c chambers in 5th. probably not a big difference in chambers over whoever i would have gotten in 4th, plus by the 5th all rb's were gone.

I was Chicago league 3 pick #3; we went McAllister, S. Davis then Curtis Martin with our 3rd pick. I would hardly consider him comparable to an 8th round RC. Worst case he averages between 12 and 12.5, he could be as high as an 18 if he scores TDs this year. 12 puts him in the 2nd tier RC range, 16-18 puts him right below the big-4 RCs. Add the fact that this stopped more than one team from getting a solid 2nd RB and I believe it was the optimal pick for my team.

Nathan, I'm with you 100%. We also got Martin with our 3rd round pick (#8 spot), to go with E.James and D.Davis in the first two rounds.
I don't understand the WR/RB argument that has been made here by JerseyPaul and others. Yes, a top WR will score more than the 7-15 range RBs, but by drafting one a team probably had to sacrifice having a solid 2nd RB. Our WRs are Ky.Johnson, R.Wayne, D.Bennett, M.Muhammad, D.Hall and T.Brown. True, no Top 15 players in that group, but certainly a deep enough pool to expect three of them to emerge with 70-900-7 seasons.
Anyway, let's see what happens.

Jones = all hype, has never done it on the field, reminds me of Willie Green last year
Smith = I love him (had him last year) but he has a bad hammy which is death for a WR
Heap = great TE but nicked with a bad shoulder
Okay squad, not great.

Im in New York League #1 and pretty damn happy. I could have the best quartet of receivers with Harrison, Andre Johnson, Peerless Price and and an emerging Brandon Lloyd, to go along with Faulk, Dunn, Delhomme/Palmer, Clark/Whitten. I too only have 2 number one backs but I drafted two very capable backups in Chris Perry and Amos Zeroue. Nonetheless should be a great season.

we are also in your league (ny#1).......and we think are quartet of receivers is JUST

I THINK MY TEAM WILL SHOW UP IN LEAGUE #1
BRADY / HOLMES / GARNER / WINSLOW / H.WARD / J.PORTER / AND COMBO OF LELIE , FERUSON, TROY BROWN , PINKSTON.
P.S. DONT LET FRAGILE FREDDY TAYLOR GO DOWN OR JAMAL TO HAVE TOUGH TIME IN COURT...GOT BOTH BACKUPS.
AS ALWAYS INJURY'S WILL DECIDE WHO HAS THE GREATEST TEAM.
