Also, what is to stop teams that are out of it from helping out the winners in their league by cutting talent in week 12 know that only the 2 teams can bid on. At least the way it is now, there are 14 foxes watching the chickhen coup. I am very distrustful of only 2.skip, have the roster expansion as part of the regular week 13 FA transactions. all 14 teams can bid on extra players. NOT just 2 teams!
as for teams cutting talent to help out the "better" teams, that can CURRENTLY happen. tell me something new. thanks.

I know it can currently happen. My point was the in if only 2 teams make pickups then there are only 2 teams competeing on that cut player as opposed to the usual 13. I believe in effecient markets. Put enough wolves I one room and you can be sure that noone is stealing from anyone.
There are other reasons I oppose this. For example, the expanded format for the post season changes the nature of the contest. If you are rewarding teams that successfully navigated the regular season on one roster size, why change it for the playoffs.
I will save my breath on this one, because it is obvious from the other postings that this is a non-starter.
Again, prove out the effectiveness of these experimental rules in the Gekko Invitationable and then let's talk.

If you don't like the idea of roster changes through a waiver wire, I suggest you play in the Draft Champions.
Waiver Wire management is just as important as draft day decisions and WDIS in a traditional fantasy league.
As for LJ and Volek, any owner with Holmes/Blaylock or McNair should have had those two rostered by mid-season. In the Auction I had Priest and drafted LJ. I dropped LJ early but then picked him up again when Priest went down and Blaylock was getting a zillion touches. Clearly Blaylock could not stand up to that kind of pounding. As for Volek, I have Plummer in all my leagues and picked up Kanell for the playoffs as insurance. McNair owners certainly got Volek earlier. I think you misunderstood JP. I am not against allowing waivers throughout the year, I just think it SHOULD be forzen come playoff time.
As far as your examples of Blaylock, LJ, Volek etc., that is exactly what I m talking about. HOWEVER, if you get a weak league where no one does pick these guys up, then it makes it easy for the "best" team to grab them. I was shoced at how many leagues had Julius Jones still available when you KNEW he was coming back (ours of course not being one of them!)

Hmm, let's see...
If the finals were limited to 64 teams, it would take 6 rounds to crown a winner (think NCAA).
We could have each half of the last 3 games be an NFFC playoff game. That would give us 6 results and we could crown a winner completely h2h.
That's the ticket, scores by first half and 2nd half.
I'm sure I could sarcastically shoot down any objections to such an obvious improvement.

So, how about rosters expand by 2 spots after week 9 or 10 or something? Just an idea.
I'll manage the best I can with whatever rules are here. It's a fact I could do a better job with more spots - so I do like the idea, but how to handle the thinning of the already weak FA pool?

I realize that the total points format is a departure from the regular season. It is a necessary evil unless you can come up with a way to have a H2H playoff with the 15 to 20 leagues, which is in the range of what I think KP is aiming for in 05.
The FA pickups are not a necessary evil. There is no reason to add this wrinkle to the system. Besides, this idea of no free agents in the playoffs is standard practice in fantasy leagues. I have played in at least 15 different leagues and only one allowed FA pick-ups in the playoffs.
Again, if you think it is such a good idea, add it to the Gekko Invitational and see how it works.

This is just a stupid statement. You are like a cancer infecting every thread you can. It's obvious you take ZERO time to consider a post before you start plotting out your arguement.
Take a deep breath and try to read this next part as you are sooooooo predictable I can almost hear your broken wheels spinning.
EVERY team would be able to expand their roster - not just 2.....GET IT. There is a certain thing called a consolation bowl.
I swear some of you guys are so anti-Gekko it represses any intelligent thought you might achieve.
If you don't like something - just state your reasons and move on like JP did. It's not necessary to always mention your Gekko phobia.
The rules are the same for all no matter what they are. If you think a change would benefit Gekko - then you admit it would benefit you as well. Grow up!
