Sorry Tom, the AFC East wasn't a tougher division than the NFC North. Have you looked at the schedules? The Bears could've won the East this season, heck, the Lions probably would've been competitive in it.
North played the AFC & NFC South.
East played the AFC & NFC West.
Other than their win against the Titans....who did the Jets beat?
Compare the schedules of Green Bay and New York and you can see why the Packers did worse and the Jets did better.
Jets:
Dolphins W/L
Patriots L/W
Chargers L
Cardinals W
Bengals W
Raiders L
Chiefs W
Bills W/W
Rams W
Titans W
Broncos L
49ers L
Seahawks L
Packers:
Vikings W/L
Detroit W/W
Cowboys L
Bucs L
Falcons L
Seahawks W
Colts W
Titans L
Bears W/L
Panthers L
Saints L
Texans L
Jags L
They don't compare. The Packers had a tougher schedule, the Jets was a joke and a cakewalk and they couldn't get it done. A lot of the problems can be attributed to Brett. Has anyone heard the way Mangini talked about his play/antics?? Mangini DID NOT want him throwing the ball DOWN the field. Look at what happened when he did...INT after INT. He....and a lot of us weren't fans of the hail mary throws. Seriously, if he weren't Brett Favre, he would get killed for the way he played this season.
I'm still amazed at the semi-support given to Brett after his play this year. Are you guys watching the games, or highlights from 10 years ago?

Favre vs, Rogers
As a 49er fan I wish we had Rodgers right now instead of Alex Smith who we took 21 picks earlier and spent more money to watch him suck. Rodgers did very well this season. Did he lead them to wins everytime he had the chance, no. He did have one game where Crosby missed a FG. And I know of at least two games where he got them the lead and the defense squandered it, so that being said, it wasnt as bad as it seemed. packers are much much better off having let Brett go, IMO.

One last thing, for you Mike.
QB Rating
08 Rodgers.....93.8
08 Favre.......81.0
07 Favre.......95.7
So you were right about Favres' 07 beating Rodgers' 08....but, the 95.7 was the 3rd best from Favre....99.5 and 95.8....and these were from over a decade ago. He never cracked the 100 mark. I'm guessing Rodgers does it next season.
