We have definitely seen a trend toward more owners taking more Wide Receivers in the early rounds this year, but last night's Online Championship League may have set a record for this trend. Check out the results above and then look at these facts:

* 5 Owners started out with at least 3 Wide Receivers in their first 3 picks.
* 3 Owners started out with 4 Wide Receivers in their first 4 picks.
* 25 of the first 36 picks were Wide Receivers; there were 10 Running Backs picked and 1 Tight End in the first three rounds.
* No owner started out RB-RB
* Only two owners had two Running Backs through the first three rounds
* Through the first 60 picks, only 17 were Running Backs.
* There also were only 3 Quarterbacks selected among the first 83 picks

Say what you want, but I don't think we've ever seen those type of trends in the 13 years of the NFFC. We've had WR-heavy drafts before, but nothing quite like that. And it's a trend that could continue, or we'll find out if anyone wants to build a winning team against this grain. Anyway, we'll keep watching the trends and report on them, but right now the trends are obvious: WR heavy early on, wait on QBs, and wait on your 2nd RB. Pretty interesting.
