Okay, we are happy to report that Best Buy has just agreed to be the title sponsor of the Welcome Receptions in each city and will sponsor our featured guest speakers in each city. We will bring in a retired NFL player to kick off the festivities in each city and will have industry experts on hand for Q&A as well. But we appreciate the support from Best Buy and welcome them on board as a key sponsor.
We haven't talked much about the Welcome Receptions as we're still finalizing everything. But we learned in baseball that it was tough for people travelling to Chicago and New York to arrive in time to attend separate events on Friday and Saturday. So we are putting the Welcome Receptions and drafts together on the same day in those two cities, while still leaving two fun days for everyone in Las Vegas. Here's the tentative schedule of events for each city:
Las Vegas, Flamingo Hotel & Casino
Friday, Sept. 3rd
5:00 p.m. Cocktails (Draft Masters League should be done by then)
5:30 p.m. Featured guest speaker, plus Q&A with industry experts
7:00 p.m. More cocktails!!!
New York Hilton, NY
Saturday, Sept. 4th
10:00 a.m. Doors open to draft room, attendees can pick up goodie bags and badges
11:00 a.m. Featured guest speaker, plus Q&A with industry experts
12:30 a.m. Break before the draft
1 p.m.: NFFC Draft begins!!!
Chicago Oakbrook Marriott
9:00 a.m. Doors open to draft room, attendees can pick up goodie bags and badges
10:00 a.m. Featured guest speaker, plus Q&A with industry experts
11:30 a.m. Break before the draft
Noon: NFFC Draft begins!!!
We are securing guest speakers right now and should have an announcement in the next week. I realize that the Auction League is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Las Vegas and it's possible we'll delay that for a half hour if the participants want to listen to our guest speaker. But those two events are in separate rooms, so we'll stick close to our current schedule.
Thanks again Best Buy and watch for more details here!!! Now let's fill up those rooms!

Greg -- won't it be a problem fitting the plasma screens from best Buy into the goodie bags?
Hello. My name is Lee Scoresby. I come from Texas, like flying hot-air balloons, being eaten by talking polar bears and fantasy football.

Good one guys!!! You are correct, Best Buy is giving away plenty of big screen TVs to football fans who know what they are doing and believe it or not they think this audience knows what they are doing. We will certainly encourage all of our NFFC members to play Best Buy's free salary cap game this year as they will be giving out over $22,000 a week in prizes.
Here's the details: You make weekly player picks using a salary cap. The program runs the entire 17 weeks of the regular season as well as the three weeks of the playoffs. During all 17 weeks of the regular season competitors are playing to win prizes including plasma and big screen TVs totaling more than $22,000 and I believe the season-long winner earns a trip for two to the Super Bowl.
The Best Buy homepage is located at www.bestbuy.com/fantasyfootball and the game is being run by Fanball.com. Among the season-long special offers included with the program will be: Local events at select Best Buy stores with sports personalities offering fantasy football insights; Fantasy football “chalk talks” with sports personalities featured online and in stores; and free pre-season draft kits, magazines, game schedules, instructions and tips available at Best Buy stores nationwide.
Best Buy had a tent at the Hall of Fame ceremonies in Canton, Ohio this weekend to introduce the game to the media and the consumer kickoff is Aug. 22. But you'll find buttons and banners for this online everywhere soon.
We highly encourage our NFFC members to compete in this event and hope you all walk away with prizes. If you do win a big screen TV, consider it a donation from the NFFC!!!

If there will be a retired NFL player speaking in each city....and if the retired player in New York is gonna be Ricky Williams....I hope he makes it past the German Sheppards at JFK airport.

Are you kidding - there won't be German Sheppards, JET fans will be rolling out the red carpet leading to a stretch limo with the bench seat covered with weed!
