Blocked Kick Points?
Blocked Kick Points?
Miami DEF is just killing it this year...made me wonder why there are no points rewarded for blocked FG or Punts?
Re: Blocked Kick Points?
You got to return it all the way. If the 2 guys running next to the guy who tracked him down would of done ANYTHING to block him, they would of scored. That is on the Miami return game....should of at least chipped him.
Re: Blocked Kick Points?
I know the current scoring rule...my question is why DONT we get points just for the block itself regardless of if they take it back to the house? A block of any kind surely is a defensive positive.
Just curious..see it awarded on several other formats.
Thanks

I personally have never seen it rewarded on any format, since there really isn't change of possession, just field position.

Exactly. Same end result as if the receiving team ran it back to that yard line.JETS SB wrote:I personally have never seen it rewarded on any format, since there really isn't change of possession, just field position.

Re: Blocked Kick Points?
I think it's more commonly found in home league scoring. All the home leagues I'm in award two points for blocked FG's or punts. I see both sides of the argument. It is a possession ender but can also offer the offense a huge advantage in field position. Probably not something I'd lobby for in the high stakes formats even though I do think that DST scoring is a bit too low.
