Over the last five years, all of our tech focus has been on the game software as we've tried to make it easier and more enjoyable to play the fantasy games you signed up for. From building the draft room to improving FAAB to putting all of your teams on one Set Lineup page, we've constantly focused over these last 5 to 6 years on the in-game software.
Which was the right focus. But it left our front-end exposed and a little bit ugly.
When we launched our game sites with SportsHub Technologies in 2017, we had a basic home page with a lot of links and a lot of text. It wasn't pretty, but it took you to the sports you wanted and to the games you wanted. Heck, it even took you to the Message Boards easily.
But it was time for a face-lift and a front end that worked better on mobile. Today's websites HAVE to be more mobile friendly and we can't expect people to click on three links to find the games they want. It should be intuitive and as user-friendly as possible.
So we've redesigned the home pages for all of the sports and that's the new look you see today.
Our home page still has the links for each of the four sports at the top along with a link to your My Teams page, but we've eliminated the white navigational bar that had links to the contests directly. Instead of hiding our contests inside, we've now listed ALL of our contests for each sport right there on the home page. You just need to scroll down a little bit to see the Contest Types right away and you can then go to the Contest page or the Lobby for any of those contests. On mobile these contests scroll easily and you can find the type of contest you want more easily.
All the links to every section within the website is at the bottom of every page, or at the footer. For each sport, you can click to get to ADP, Venue, History, Records, Forums, Career Earnings, Live Events, Research, etc. Instead of clogging up the top of each page, it's now available in the footer of each page. It's still all there, it's just a scroll down and not the first thing you see on every page.
We've also added a few photos for each sport in the sliders and we'll be able to update those more easily as well. Let's show people some images of the live events right away and let people see how much fun drafting in Las Vegas and New York City really is.
Everything takes time to get used to and we certainly understand that not everyone likes change. But this front page face-lift was needed and it puts our many contests right in front of new users instead of hiding them inside. I'd recommend bookmarking the Forums if you go there often or the ADPs or any other features you're used to going to, or you can find all of that in the footer of each page. For mobile, this is a much cleaner and intuitive look and feel.
We're always open for comments, so feel free to post them here or email me at [email protected]. If we're missing something or if you want a link added somewhere that makes sense, we can do it. Thanks for any feedback and good luck in all your leagues this season.
