What Are You All Doing Here On A Saturday?
Okay, it's Saturday afternoon in the middle of August and we have 40 people on the Message Boards and 34 guests. What's up everyone? Let's talk some football for the next hour if anyone wants to right here. I'm game.

Okay, I'll get it started. Greg, with last night's season-ending injury to Correll Buckhalter, would you move Brian Westbrook up on your Cheat Sheets?
Yes and no. Yes, he's now the every down back in Philadelphia and that means more production, unless Philly goes out and acquires a veteran backup. And no, because he's still 5'8" and hasn't grown at all since Buckhalter's injury. He's not an everydown back and Andy Reid knows that. The Eagles need reinforcements, that's for sure.
We have Westbrook ranked 19th among all running backs and I still wouldn't move him ahead of Corey Dillon, Rudi Johnson or even Stephen Davis. Maybe Tiki Barber, but even that's tough.
Bottom line: The Eagles need to get more help or Westbrook won't last the season.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even with Michael Vick's injury last pre-season, we didn't have this many off-season changes like we're having this year, right? I mean, think about Ricky Williams retiring, Jamal Lewis facing legal problems, David Boston going down for the year, Buckhalter getting hurt, Faulk limping around practice, I mean it's been rough.
Sure makes preparing for this Draft Day interesting, doesn't it?

Oh, I have to make a special welcome to JSF, who not only joined the NFFC today but also jumped into the Gekko Invitational when a spot opened this morning. Josh booked his flight from California today, has e-mailed me three times already this afternoon and appears to be as excited about this event as anyone can get. Welcome aboard Josh and we're glad to have you with this unique group of fantasy football fans.

I was talking to my buddy about Westbrook and the # of injuies this preseason.
We both agreed that Westbrook should NOT be moved up at all. Any value increase due to more carries will be negated to a greater chance of injury. This is a classic case of buyer beware.
As for the # of injuries, it probably has to do with players being more catious with what "drugs" they put in their systems. Same thing happened in baseball this year...lots of injuries. (or maybe just o guys on my team )

Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?

I won't touch the drug issue, but some of these guys are getting hurt without even getting hit. So it's not even the wear and tear of four pre-season games or a long training camp. It's the fact these bodies broke down, for whatever reason.
Again, it will make for a very interesting Draft Day. Now the backup in Philly, you know, oh what's his name, will be a late round selection if the Eagles don't make a trade.

Remember how small Rocky Bliar was? How about Barry Sanders. Here's a famous quote...It's not the size of the Dog in the Fight, but the Fight in the Dog." My opinion...Westbrook will flourish in 2004.

I just don't like him where someone else will take him.
That being said, if he falls to my range, I will be thrilled to take him.
The question of 'is Westbrook worth drafting' is really impossible to answer. The obvious answer is yes... but not in the 2nd round.
