61 Teams In The Hunt For Classic $100,000 Grand Prize
If you've made the NFFC Championship Round you now have a 1 in 61 chance of winning the $100,000 grand prize. Pretty fair odds for a shot at a six-figure prize, wouldn't you say?!!
Congrats to all 61 owners who made it through the toughest part of the NFFC Classic season. Beating 11 other teams for league money and a spot in the Championship Round is never easy. Every single league was a dogfight this year as you'll see from my year-end analysis soon. But for now, let's get to the teams that won money in their leagues and will be playing for the $100,000 grand prize.
We had 280 teams in the Classic this year, for a total of 20 leagues. Top 3 teams in each league advance to the Championship Round plus any team that finished fourth or lower in their league by finished in the Top 15% of all teams in total points. The only Wild Card team this year is Mike Santos, who finished fourth in Online League 1 but was 37th in total points. He joins the 60 other league money winners.
We have 10 of 20 leagues that have different h2h and total points champions, so those 10 leagues will have league playoffs. All of those owners should realize that there are two links on your team page: One to set your starting lineup for your league playoff and one to set your starting lineup for your Championship Round team. Please set those separately each week. Sound good?
Here are the 61 teams, with the first team listed as the h2h champ:
NFFC Classic Championship Round Qualifiers:
Aug. 31: Matthew Bauler, James Bradtke, Gregg Zwickel

61 Teams In The Hunt For Classic $100,000 Grand Prize
Our eighth season of the NFFC Classic was definitely one of our toughest ever, with almost every league going down to the wire. In 16 of 20 leagues, h2h champion was undecided heading into Week 3 and when all was said and done 6 leagues still had ties among h2h leaders. It was a wild, wild season, but at the end we definitely feel the best 61 teams will be battling for the $100,000 grand prize.
Remember, all teams carry their weekly scoring average from Weeks 1-13 into the Championship Round and then add their totals from Weeks 14, 15 and 16 to that to determine the $100,000 champion. Good luck to all of you.
Here's how each league played out and and then the data:
Aug. 31: 12-1, h2h champ was 3rd in points
Chicago 1: 10-3, 1st in points
Chicago 2: 3 teams tied at 10-3, one was 1st in points
Chicago 3: 2 teams tied at 9-4, 1st in points
Las Vegas 1: 10-3, 1st in points
Las Vegas 2: 12-1, 4th in points (only league where 3rd in points didn't qualify for Championship Round)
Las Vegas 3: 3 teams tied at 10-3, 3rd in points
Las Vegas 4: 11-2, 2nd in points
New York 1: 2 teams tied at 9-4, 1st in points
New York 2: 12-1, 3rd in points
New York 3: 2 teams tied at 9-4, 1st in points
New York 4: 11-2, 1st in points
Online 1: 10-3, 2nd in points
Online 2: 11-2, 1st in points
Online 3: 11-2, 3rd in points
Sept. 6: 10-3, 2nd in points
Sept. 7: 3 teams tied at 9-4, 3rd in points
Sept. 8: 11-2, 2nd in points
Sept. 1: 9-4, 1st in points
Sept. 1 League 2: 9-4, 1st in points
Here's the data:
** 10 of 20 leagues (50%) had one team win $5,000 after Week 13 for being h2h champ and total points champ. That means 10 of 20 leagues will have League Championships in Weeks 14-16 to determine their league champions.
** Of the h2h champions that didn't have most total points, they finished in their league 2nd (4 teams), 3rd (6 teams) and 4th (1 team).
** In 19 of 20 Classic leagues, the top 3 scoring teams made it to the Championship Round. The only exception was one team that was fourth in their league in total points.
** 6 leagues finished with tied h2h champions, with the winner decided by total points. Three of those leagues had two teams tied for first in h2h and three leagues had three teams tied for first.
** There was 1 Wild Card team added to the Championship Round in 2011, the lowest number we've ever had.
** Four owners have two teams in the Classic Championship Round: Gregg Zwickel, Eddie Gillis, Stephen Jupinka and Frank Heron.
** Six past NFBC and NFFC champions have a shot at making history. Tom Yates and Josh Ferenc are past Classic champions who could win their second overall title. Bobby Jurney and Stephen Jupinka are past NFBC champions who could be the first one to win one overall title in both of our baseball and football contests. Bill Strickler and Dave Gerczak are past NFFC Primetime overall champions who could be the first one to win an overall title in the NFFC Classic and the NFFC Primetime. So we have a lot going on here this year!!!
Again, good luck to all.

Good luck everyone, I wish you the best of luck all the way to 2nd place Thanks for the breakdown Pat. I actually figured the number of Rodgers owners would be higher.
I'm ready to get this party started and look forward to having a 1/61 chance at $100,000.
GO RODGERS!!!!!!!!!
