NFL players should be ashamed of themselves.

this week NFL laid off workers. Now how much did that save the NFL? im sure a lot but was it necessary? Who got laid off? Admin people? sales people? the people that do the grunt work the people that need their jobs.

First, right before holidays.. Nice.

Second, maybe the NFL should have talked to the Union and had each player (lets say 5 year vested players who make a lot) or even all the player, agree to reduce their salaries by a measly 10k a year. Wow, im sure they would miss that.. im sure they would be hurt.. they give away money on fines and penalties like it's going out of style..

Those players should give back and help those people keep their jobs.. everyone should sacrifice alittle in this crappy world economy we live in. The players should have done their part and the NFL should have come to them hat in hand and made a genuine request in private ..

Again, NFL and Players should be ashamed. just my opinion.

Why is it the players fault that the NFL laid off workers?

I'm pretty sure they didn't even know about the layoffs.

Plus, if the NFL doesn't even want to pay for retired players medical benefits do you really think the NFLPA would just willingly help out the NFL? I doubt it.

NFL players give back to the community and charities year round. It's not their obligation to help out people who are losing their jobs.
