Seahawks RB Alexander hopes to play through prayer

Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander hopes to play Sunday, after all. The NFL's reigning most valuable player is crediting the power of prayer for possibly healing the cracked bone in his left foot. The foot stopped hurting Tuesday and word spread as Alexander began alerting friends and family. Alexander's brother, Durran, confirmed this today and said his famous brother plans to undergo additional tests today. These stories are rare but not without precedent. Reggie White credited prayer for healing his injured hamstring, allowing him to play for the Green Bay Packers in 1995. We'll presumably hear more about this if and when Alexander addresses reporters later in the day. Coach Mike Holmgren will provide the latest information at his press conference today (noon PDT). The team will still determine whether Alexander plays against the Bears on Sunday. The MRI exam he underwent earlier in the week showed a very small crack. If that has cleared up, it's conceivable that Alexander could play this week. At the very least, it sounds like he could be a fast healer. Stay tuned.

Nice story. Might be a game time decision. For teams with both SA and Morris, when are line-ups due for Sunday night games? Is that games players allowed to be substitued up until kick-off?

But if I can find any resolve in the matter it would be knowing now that Billy Wazz likes to go to antique auctions for household knick-knacks....

at an auction, you don't pay $600 for an antique (even though you know it is worth that) when you can get it for $10!!!!

I know many people who've been diagnosed with cancer and other ailments that have been "miraculously" healed. Some have been tested at the beginning of the week and when they returned for surgery at the end of the week, the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with them.
If this proves to be true with Alexander as well, I would say God provided healing through Alexander's faith in Him, not the actual prayers. Anyone can pray, but it is a lot more than just offering up words!

Alexander healed by prayer???
That situation with White was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. On Monday we were all told Reggie was out for the year. His season was over. On Wednesday Reggie's telling us God healed him and he would be able to play. And play he did. Honestly, that was simply amazing. The guy had a hole in his hamstring. He should not have played another down that season but he still returned.
Amazing.
Amazing.

edited: not listed as probable this week. Official report not out yet.
Seriously, when are line ups locked for Sunday Night games? I've never tried to switch a player for late games. I have a feeling he still won't (or shouldn't) play and want to be able to put in Morris if word comes down at kick off.

If you had Alexander and Morris on your team, you could change who you wanted to start five minutes before that Sunday night game. Nice, huh?
