Okay, so the NFL has announced that Sunday's tilt between the Ravens and Texans has been pushed back to Monday night...BUT THE GAME IS STILL SCHEDULED TO BE PLAYED IN HOUSTON?!?!? Goodell is dropping the ball here -- the game needs to be scheduled at a neutral site like Atlanta or New Orleans. With massive evacuations, power outages, etc., Houston is almost certainly going to be a mess all weekend. Why use valuable city resources to make sure that an NFL game is played, when there will be obvious and more important matters at hand?

From a fantasy perspective, it could be a disaster if the game cannot be played in a timely fashion. Wins and losses would be determined from the other 15 games on the Week 2 slate, and then potentially changed later in the year when Baltimore and Houston eventually play their game (I assume that's how it would work).

I hope this all turns out to be a false alarm, but the way things look right now, Goodell is making a terrible mistake.

What if (God forbid), this is as devastating as Katrina? There will be FAR more important things to be concerned about in the Houston area than a football game.

I think the comment about wasting valuable city resources to put on a football game is the most salient. There could be a huge need for police officers, firefighters, electrical crews, and transportation workers to keep the city running, people fed, and people housed. To commit resources for traffic control and consessions for a sporting event under these circumstances is absurd.

Of course, Goodell could be moving it to Monday only to see if this is going to be a Katrina or a Gustav. If it's a Katrina, he'll move the game elsewhere. If it's a Gustav, the game is on.

Goodell hasn't done much to impress me in his brief stint as commish. After his pac man deal he appears to be on a major power trip.

I think Goodell is in a tough situation as even the city officials have decided not to evacuate. I know a football game isn't the same as hurricane preparation, I'm just saying.

Like Shrink said, the game could still be moved again, either to another day or another city.
