Did anyone receive their 2011 1099 from the NFFC yet?

In the hands of Fanball I trust that they got swept away in the rush to leave the business?

Greg, do you know anything about the 1099's for the 2010 NFFC? When are they going out?

Greg, I received my 1099 for my winnings for the 2010 season, which i received early 2011. Will I be getting another 1099 for the regular season winnings for the 2011 season which was dated 12/28/2011?

Greg, I have another 1009 question. I won $5500 from the WCOFF that was paid in March 2011. However, I haven't gotten a 1099 because they are now out of business. My question is, does a company like the NFFC or WCOFF provide the IRS notification of my win when the check is cut, or when the 1099 is sent? If it's when the check is sent, do you think it's safe to assume that I do not have to report this $5500 win?

Cheetah I can't even speculate on how the WCOFF would have reported your winnings to the IRS. From our standpoint, it's definitely not when you're paid. It's right about now at season's end when all total winnings have been calculated and with all winners together for all sports. So now that they are bankrupt, I highly doubt anyone is sending out these forms. I have no idea how the government handles something like this with bankrupt companies. It's a very, very interesting discussion, but your hunch may be correct. But honestly, I don't know for sure.

Interesting. Good luck to all who actually did receive winnings in 2011 from them and now have to worry about the taxes issue. I'd definitely put some away just in case.

I never received a tax form. Is that because I won less that $600?

Marc - Winnings under $600 do not require a 1099 being issued.
