Some people pony up the cash to go to the Super Bowl. Others stay home and watch it on TV. It's the same game either way.

The experience is different for sure.

[/QUOTE]While I'm sure the ownership wants everyone to enjoy themselves, I believe their first priority is making the event profitable.

If it were 70/30 towards online, then so be it. That says the majority would prefer to curb costs, increase ROI, etc.

Why should online drafters pay for our live draft experience? Makes zero sense to me.

When building a Contest you want people to 'Come to your event to Draft' make it frist class and there hooked. Drafting from home(online) is not going to hook anyone.

How was that?

if it were 70/30 in favor of online,THERE WOULD BE NO LIVE EVENTS AND THIS TURNS INTO JUST AN INTERNET LEAGUE.

Seems like the Online Championship did okay this year?

Yes, it was a lower entry fee, but they also had to lower the Primetime EF to keep participation up. IMO.

This is my 3rd year and it sure as hell isn't because of the live draft experiences I had in Tampa and Orlando. Just saying.

I participated in a regional event that had 9 12-team leagues. It was easily more enjoyable than my other "awesome" draft experiences.

I think this discussion could be easily concluded if you just ask the phone/online drafters if they're willing to pay an extra $100 so the live drafters can have a nice buffet.

Russ I understand your points, but I was only responding to the idea where Greg said he wants to continue to make it an event while growing. While discouraging people from doing the phone leagues would help to make it an event, it may discourage overall growth by forcing people to look for alternatives. Oh and btw, comparing this to watching the Superbowl live or traveling to see it is just that, not a comparison. Anyway, carry on....
