We can't bitch on it now that some of us are not meeting our own expectations. No one put a gun to our heads and said "join this league." To my knowledge no one is bitching saying we made a mistake joining the league, or that any of us are asking for our money back. I think you jumped the gun on this one. Here's a thought for you....DON'T READ THE THREAD ANYMORE. YOUR LIFE WILL BE BEARABLE AGAIN. THANKS!

JP - this is good stuff. at the end of the season i will gather results from the draftmasters, main nffc event, gekko invite, and wcoff leagues to see where all of this shakes out. my guess is that the early draft positions will be favored. we will see, won't we. sorry for all the posts today, but i had a mid-week break in the action at work.

I think analyzing where the winners drafted is the wrong way to draw conclusions. A good pick (Culpepper) and a good WW move (Droughns) can really move the needle.
Analyze the last 4 positions. If 75% of the last 4 (actual results) drafted in the last 4 then it's clear that there is a disadvantage. Can it be overcome, yes, but such a finding would show it's not overcome often.

It's interesting that you are using the Draft Champions League for this analysis since the computer picks your optimal lineup each week. Obviously in good weeks, your lower-round picks can emerge as starters over your first two or three picks. Teams that suffer a large amount of injuries, however, have no recourse in the Draft Champions League other than to just sit back and watch the damage add up each week. Yes, you have a better chance of winning the DC with a top superstar or two, but do you really think it's impossible to win the Draft Champions event from a lower-round pick?
I guess you guys will supply the data and then Gordon can figure out a better way to assign draft picks in that event other than having a draft bidding process (sorry, no FAAB in that event to use on draft picks. Hmmmmm, maybe we can use REAL MONEY to determine draft picks there!). I'll sit back and await the answers.

This comes from a born leader -- not a sheep -- who happens to be sitting at TWO and friggin' FIVE. For whatever reason, this just ain't my year in fantasy football. I'm in 7 leagues, and already out of it in 4 of them. No ones fault but my own dumb-ass. Although, I'm doing quite well in my main, big money keeper league, in which I managed to trade Charlie Garner, Kelly Holcombe and Tommy Maddox for Terrell Owens last season. THAT was fun. I don't think I can say anything to improve on this. Can we start a new thread now????

Vegas, I like the NFFC such that I would like to see it be even better in future years. If I didn't like it I wouldn't waste my time here.

Greg, you asked so I'll respond. Studies have shown that there are indeed fairer draft methods than serpentine. I'll try to find the studies.
An examples would be:
round 1 1-14
round 2 14-1
round 3 14-1
round 4 1-14
and continue serpentine or repeat (1,14,14,1,1,14,14,1,1)
In a DC environment that would allow the tail-enders to draft 3 RBs which would offset the quality of the low-enders picks.
I'll get you more on this and others.

Who the hell said anything about a "mistake" joining the league, or asking for "their money" back? You're imagining stuff now.
