Let's get this thing going already.

Here's some thoughts on the rules for next year.

1. Draft will be for 30 rounds.

2. NFFC scoring system, DC style, KDS

3. $125 entry fee.

4. Draft will start Monday Feb 8th (or immediatelly after the Super Bowl) and we will draft 5 rounds. Each of the next 5 round drafts will start:

March 1
March 22
April 12 (to be completed by April 22nd)

-----Rookie draft April 25th.

May 3
May 24

This will have the league ending about June 1st.

5. There will be a 24 hour clock to make picks. (That has never been a problem in the past)

6. Rookie picks can be made prior to the rookie draft but they will be rookie 1, rookie 2, etc... Immediately after the rookie draft anybody who has selected a rookie will get picks in the order of their choices.

7. Supplemental draft - there will not be a supplemental draft this year. When the 5 rounds are completed at the end of May we will be finished.

8. Prize pool the same as this year with winner take all and 2nd place getting their entry back.

We are talking with Greg and Tom about this becoming a NFFC event this year. Hopefully that will happen. It will be nice having the rounds rotate this year. It should be interesting to see what happens with the kds.

I wanted to take a minute to have the rules recorded on the board somewhere so that we can go back and reference them later.

Looks good Wayne. Thanks for writing this up. Greg has agreed to run the league and handle collections/payouts at no charge to us. Make sure you tell him thanks when you send in your KDS.

There will be further instructions coming via e-mail. KDS deadline will be midnight Jan 15th so we can have our slots before the games begin that weekend and have 4 weeks to prepare.

This should be fun again. It's a nice way to pass the time anyway. ;)

I am excited to see the Trendsetters League rolling again. As I told Jeff yesterday, we'll feature this league on Fanball.com as the drafts are held and do analysis on the picks. In fact, I'd encourage this group to help us with those writeups and possibly go into detail into each round or even each pick. It would be great content for all fantasy football fans and could spark some real interest in 2010, in this league, in the NFFC.

You guys figure out what you can do editorially and we'll provide the space. It's not quite 15 minutes of fame, but it's worth at least 2 or 3. :D Thanks for doing this again folks and count on us to run this league through the season, to provide a nice autographed memorabilia prize to the winner and to provide space online and maybe even in print for the draft results and analysis. Let's get this thing going!!!

Ditto on what Matt said to Wayne and the league (except my check was much smaller).

I would be interested in joining this if you have an opening. I did the Slow Auction DC League last year that was going on at the same time. The early start was helpful in preparing for August. I would enjoy the opportunity to get involved in this one.
