Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?

Keep trying, Gordon. You may figure it out eventually. Cute, though. Reminds me a little bit of LBJ back in the 60's keeping Vietnam going because of his Lockheed stock. I'll try to explain this to you later when I have more time.

By the way, any more word on the sale of the northeast blue states to Canada? Clinton was looking to become the first president of two different countries and maybe see if he could build a legacy up there since he couldn't do it here. You may want to get with Greg to see if Canadians can play in the NFFC next year. We could lose six leagues over this election.

[/QUOTE]I'm pretty neutral on Bush.. neither happy or unhappy with what he's done. But I can tell you that Kerry in office would have been a nasty kind of hell. A career politician that doesn't know how to say 'yes' or 'no' to anything? John, do you like the color Blue? "Well, I do like it but it's not the only color I like." Hey, Mr. Kerry, what do you think about global warming? "I think it's something we need to look at." Sir, what do you think about boxers or briefs? "I wore boxers until I wore briefs and I like them both equally"

If Kerry had any spine and wasn't such a political tool he could have easily won this election. Uh, country at war that most citizens believe is not going well. Economy in neutral... budget deficit soaring... Bush is kind of a verbal idiot... and you still couldn't beat him?

Both parties should be ashamed of the canidates they put out there...

Both parties should be ashamed of the canidates they put out there...I agree with you, Dave, but this lack of quality leadership has been a 40-year old problem except for Reagan and some will argue that. This was the year for a third party candidate and I was disappointed when you and Gordon didn't run.
:D

Economy in neutral... budget deficit soaringExports were up and the deficit was down last month according to Fox last night, but I doubt you'll see this reported anywhere else. Just maybe we've turned the corner. The cure is to buy oil stocks if you haven't already. Refinery expansion and construction should be booming the next few years to go with erratic oil prices. Might as well join in on the fun, Gordon, as it will make the next 4 years much more enjoyable.

We couldn't agree who would be Pres and who would be VP, so we were halted at the fund raising level ;)

Actually, I believe the economy has been better than most, but I posted the 'centrist' view. For investments, go global... but don't buy a specific market (i.e. 'asia' or 'europe') - Oil stocks have had a heck of a run and hard to imagine companies like BP can put up another 40% return. Just IMHO.

Oil stocks have had a heck of a run and hard to imagine companies like BP can put up another 40% return. Just IMHO.Being in industrial construction, I'm hearing rumblings about this from my corporate office in San Antonio, Texas. This is how the oil companies are going to spend their huge 2004 profits and the plan is for Bush to get Alaska opened up to create new jobs and sell the country on increased independence from the Middle East. So IMHO, another 40-50% could be forthcoming easily. And I agree with your assessment on international as I see Asia and Europe beginning to merge idealogically which always spills over to financially.
