NFFC Magazine Draft On Tuesday, July 10th
Okay, as I stated last week we are back in the magazine business and we'll have a co-branded NFFC fantasy football issue on newsstands in early August. I can't disclose all of the details yet because the ink on the contract isn't dry yet, but it will be a nice publication with a veteran publisher who is pushing our NFFC brand and scoring system. Tom and I are writing all of the player profiles now and we are in charge of hosting a 12-team mock draft for the magazine.
That draft will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at 7 pm EST with a mix of industry writers and NFFC veterans. I've invited five NFFC national champions and five industry writers to participate, leaving us with a few openings at the minimum. We'll post all of the draft results in this magazine and heck we can play out the league if folks want to. We'll see about that after I see how good or bad I drafted!!
Anyway, here's the details and who the invites went out to:
NFFC Magazine Mock Draft
Tuesday, July 10th, 7 pm EST
NFFC Primetime style draft, 12 teams, 20 rounds, 3RR/KDS
Greg Ambrosius
Tom Kessenich
Rotowire.com/MockDraftCentral.com
RotoExperts.com
John Hansen/FantasyGuru.com
Dave Clum, 2011 NFFC Primetime national champion
Michael Treffiletti, 2011 NFFC Classic national champion
Joseph Treffiletti, 2011 NFFC Slow Draft national champion
John Rundle, 2011 NFFC Online Championship national champion
Wayne Ellis, 2011 NFFC Draft Champions national champion
Okay, I'll randomly pick the 2 open spots from anyone who has either already signed up for an NFFC live event or who signs up for a new live event by Wednesday, July 4. If you've already signed up for an NFFC live event and want to participate, just email me at [email protected] and I'll add you to the list. I'll then add any new signups to the list this weekend and through the Fourth of July and on Thursday we'll pick the two owners for those open spots. If anyone above can't join the mock draft, then we'll fill their spot with anyone from this list.
Okay, let the fun begin and shoot me an email if you're interested in participating. We'll let the computer decide who gets these final spots and plan accordingly. It should be a fun night of drafting and we'll definitely post some of the results here. Oh, and don't forget to start securing your spots in the 2012 NFFC. Time to get serious about locking in those live event spots now!!

Can't wait to see it. I hope it is an annual thing.

Re: NFFC Magazine Draft On Tuesday, July 10th
Okay, we have both Treffiletti's committed to this magazine league draft and Scott Engel of RotoExperts.com has agreed to participate. We might have one more open spot because the Rotowire.com guys may have a conflict with that All-Star Game night. So we might need three NFFC owners now. We have almost two dozen folks who have asked to be in this magazine draft and on Thursday we'll pick the names out of the computer and announce the final lineup. Thanks all.Sabretooth wrote:Can't wait to see it. I hope it is an annual thing.
Here's the lineup card so far:
1. Greg Ambrosius
2. Tom Kessenich
3. Dave Clum
4. John Rundle
5. Scott Engel, Rotoexperts.com
6. Michael Treffiletti
7. Joseph Treffiletti
8. John Hansen, FantasyGuru.com
We're just waiting to hear from Wayne Ellis and a final confirmation from the Rotowire.com guys. Thanks.

Re: NFFC Magazine Draft On Tuesday, July 10th
Okay, we had more than a dozen owners submit their names for the final three spots and we put them into a computer and grabbed the top three names. Everyone on this list should look for an email shortly inviting you to this NFFC Magazine league and a link on your MY TEAMS page soon. We'll draft on Tuesday night in the NFFC draft room and play out this league online. Good luck to everyone.
Here are the 12 owners for this draft. Set your KDS preferences once the team links are live and we'll set a KDS deadline shortly. We'll announce draft spots after that. Here's the list of owners for Tuesday's draft (not the draft order):
NFFC Magazine Mock Draft
Tuesday, July 10th, 7 pm EST
NFFC Primetime style draft, 12 teams, 20 rounds, 3RR/KDS
Greg Ambrosius
Tom Kessenich
Joseph Treffiletti
Michael Treffiletti
John Rundle
Dave Clum
Scott Engel
John Hansen
Nelson Sousa
Nina Dulacki
Todd Ullman
Bill Cleavenger
I'm sorry we couldn't get everyone who requested to draft into this league, but maybe next year we can convince our publishers to do two mock drafts in the magazine. We're just glad to be back in the magazine business and having an NFFC co-branded title on newsstands again. More details to come soon. Oh, and look for these draft results on the NFFC boards after we conclude Tuesday's draft. Thanks all.

Re: NFFC Magazine Draft On Tuesday, July 10th
I'm looking forward to tonight's draft. I went 1-5 and then 12-6 with my KDS. I probably should have stayed in the middle, but I thought it would be fun to build this team from the back-end in a 12-team format. Should be fun.
Now, how did Tom get that first overall pick? Damn him.
I love the participants in this league. Should be a lot of fun and we'll post the results shortly afterwards for all to enjoy, at least the early rounds. Thanks all.

I can announce that Arian Foster will be the first pick and unlike the NFL draft I won't take up the entire time to make a pick I already know well in advance. Then I'm gonna sit back and watch a lotta players I really like go off the board.

Already an interesting draft. I went old school with my first two picks: RB-RB with Foster and Peterson.
