Scott - management is already on record saying they will call/email "problem" people. It's good to hear that, however in the end it is up to the owner to make picks in a timely fashion. Management has already put "auto one round" in place which is a fantastic addition, however if owners don't use it, it won't help.

The real frustration is the 8 hours per pick in the rules. Since some owners interpret that literally, a draft would take 140 days if everyone "followed the rules" as specified. Clearly that can't happen. Here's some numbers to put it in perspective for everyone:
Avg pick made in 30min, it would take 9 days to complete draft
Avg pick made in 1 hour, it would take 18 days to complete draft
Avg pick made in 1.5 hours, it would take 26 days to complete draft
Avg pick made in 2 hours, it would take 35 days to complete draft
Avg pick made in 3 hours, it would take 53 days to complete draft
Avg pick made in 4 hours, it would take 70 days to complete draft
Avg pick made in 5 hours, it would take 88 days to complete draft
And so on

So even if owners took an average of 3 hours per pick, which is well within the rules, the draft would take 53 days to complete

They truth of the matter is that the drafts NEED owners who make picks quickly. So when I see an owner consistently taking 4 or 5 or 8 hours a pick, I'm going to say something. The slacker owners need us quick owners to make the league happen, not the other way around

I get what you're saying and you're preaching to the choir. The easy solution is to drop the timer from 8 to six or four imho. I love the DCs and especially the national championship option. I just don't want to see it fall in upon itself.

I'm in a draft atm with several of the people that have been mentioned, but there are others doing the same thing in this draft too. We hammered out six rounds in the first 36 hrs but then had roughly six picks total in the next 24 hrs. Outside of reducing the timer, I don't see a way to stop or control everyone.

Your hypothetical 140-day-draft point is invalid. There are literally zero drafts threatening to push into the season.

If u had a league full of all 8 hour slackers, the draft would take 140 days and it would be 100% allowable via the rules

Yep it sure would, you're absolutely right. I'll personally pay for your team when that happens.

Ah-Ha!!!!....this might help explain why my teams, at least on paper, "seem" to look better this year.

Going on 5 hours for Dietzman for his current pick. This is after he had an 8 hour timeout. Seems like "the system" is working beautifully here. NOT
