Monte Carlo To Host Saturday, Sept. 10th LV Drafts
Due to space constrictions at the Bellagio on Saturday, Sept. 10th, the Las Vegas Live Events will be held at the Monte Carlo that day. We apologize for the late notice and the inconvenience, but we will make this transition as smoothly as possible for everyone.
Again: ONLY SATURDAY SEPT. 10TH EVENTS WILL BE AT THE MONTE CARLO.
We are in Ballrooms 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Monte Carlo Convention Center. I'll provide more details later this week, but here's the current schedule for that day:
Saturday, Sept. 10th
Monte Carlo Las Vegas
Monte Carlo Convention Center Ballrooms 2-5
10 am Primetime - 4 leagues
2 pm Primetime and Classic - total of 3 leagues
6 pm Primetime
7 pm Platinum
All other Las Vegas events from Sept. 2nd through Sept. 9th are at the Bellagio in the Monet Ballrooms. We'll also have a suite for the Thursday Night Viewing Party and the First Weekend Thursday gathering. Only Saturday, Sept. 10th is affected by this change.
Why the move to the Monte Carlo and why the late notice?
Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of our great friends at the Bellagio and when a convention wants every single meeting room space we are sometimes pushed aside. They did a great job of securing us the best ballrooms at the Bellagio for every day other than Saturday and we had hoped for four more rooms on Saturday, Sept. 10th but it didn't happen. The Bellagio is hosting a convention starting on Saturday, Sept. 10th that needed every single ballroom and we had no choice but to look for an alternative for one day of live drafts. This is a convention that goes through the weekend and into the early part of the week. Nothing we could do.
The good news is that their sister hotel, the Monte Carlo, had a great setup for our Saturday drafts and even if you stay at the Bellagio you can easily get there. The Tram is free and leaves from the Bellagio Convention Center (just up the escalator near the DaVinci ballrooms) and the second stop is the Monte Carlo. The Tram stops at Aria and then Monte Carlo. Once there we will be in the Convention Center Ballrooms 2-5. The ballroom will feature all of the drafts in an open setting, so this should be fun and of course we'll have food and drink for every draft. Free WiFi is also available at the Monte Carlo for everyone, so no need for a special code or anything like that.
We will gladly get everyone together for the Tram to the Monte Carlo if needed. Again, it's an easy ride over and you won't have to go walk down the Strip at all. It will take 10 minutes to get from the Bellagio to the Monte Carlo. If you are staying at any other hotel on the Strip the move to the Monte Carlo will be minimal at best.
Obviously we need to get the word out quickly and make sure everyone is on the same page. Again: THIS IS JUST FOR SATURDAY'S EVENTS AT THE MONTE CARLO.
We'll update the Las Vegas city page, the Signup List and email everyone continuously. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we'd like to thank the Bellagio for securing this space for Sept. 2-9 and for working with the Monte Carlo to get us space for Saturday, Sept. 10th. It will work out fine.
While others are leaving the finest hotels on the Strip, we are doing everything we can to stay at the Bellagio for baseball and football. The costs have increased over the years and we realize that, but we'll stay at the Bellagio for as long as they will have us. It's the best hotel for high-stakes players. Unfortunately, when their space is full, we have to look for an alternative and this year we are happy to host these next door at the Monte Carlo FOR ONE DAY ONLY.
We'll see you in Las Vegas and we'll make sure you are going to the right hotel!! Remember:
Monet Ballrooms at the Bellagio Sept. 2-9.
Monte Carlo ONLY on Saturday, Sept. 10th.
Thanks all.

Will you start the drafts on time, even if participants are not there?

We run a tight ship and we know people have plans in place for the entire day, so yes we'll do everything we can to make sure everyone knows where they need to be and when they need to be there. We also run the fastest drafts -- sometimes too fast -- so I think we'll be fine with meeting everyone's schedule. But communication is key and I'll make sure we have everyone in the right spot.RedRyder wrote:Will you start the drafts on time, even if participants are not there?

I always stay at the Monte Carlo in Vegas. The monorail is the reason. It's SO easy to hop on the rail over there. There are only three stops on the entire ride.... Bellagio-Crystals at Aria-Monte Carlo.... trust me, its so quick there is no inconvenience.
