New Message Board Tab
New Message Board Tab
Has any thought been given to creating a league sign-up tab vs. lumping these into the general tab. Any news or discussion gets lost in the massive league sign-up notices.

Re: New Message Board Tab
The issue we have with creating a different forum for signups vs. general news is this is the forum where everyone tends to congregate. So we want our signup threads to be here since this is where we want to be promoting them since this where the most traffic will be. We have ideas for other ways to additionally add-on to this but those are still in development so until that comes this is the way we'll be for now. We know it adds to this forum becoming cluttered at times and we apologize for that but this forum is the one with the most traffic and this forum does help spur signups; that's been proven. So we will continue to use this to promote our leagues. It's been proven to be highly successful.

Cannot disagree that this tab promotes sign-ups and is good for business but whatever is on the table to inspire FF conversation should get promoted. I believe that the more your customers meet and chat on your site your long term customer loyalty and sales will be enhanced. Once a player is signed up and his league is filled there is no longer a need to come back. Maybe even in that scenario if you get him/her back to chat you will get another sale.
Just my 2 cents, but I you make the big bucks so I will yield. Thanks for the response.

RoadKing, it's proven this forum promotes signups. Greg and I receive emails, texts and phone calls daily based on what people are seeing in this forum from our customers asking to be signed up for contests they're seeing here. These threads in this forum are absolutely an essential aspect of promoting our contests in terms of letting people know what's available. You can disagree if you like but the facts support our position which is why we continue to make these posts. If they weren't so effective we wouldn't continue doing it. But they are and as a result we will continue to do so.
As I said, we realize it can cause clutter and that can be a problem. That's why we will sticky important news items at the top of the forum here. We also are hoping to add more features to our Countdown page in the future that hopefully will enhance that page. Perhaps that will make the threads here less necessary. We'll see. But until that day comes the threads in this forum remain a vital and absolutely necessary part of our business in terms of promoting the contests we're offering, especially those we're offering on a daily basis.

I certainly get your request, but as Tom said pushing these signups on the boards is one way to help sell these out every single night. But we'd love to have a Live Chat Roll on the Countdown page that could replace these Message Board posts. That is the goal going forward, to do what we're doing here in another area on our site. It won't get installed now, but long-term that is the way to handle all of this.RoadKing wrote:Has any thought been given to creating a league sign-up tab vs. lumping these into the general tab. We hear ya, but right now this is important to our business and will continue. Also, nobody pushes content on the boards more than me and Tom, so we're ready to talk about draft results and more. We'll do Live Chats if anyone is out there, but right now it looks like folks are drafting and preparing their draft lists, not talking on the boards. I don't think we're stifling the Chat. In fact, we're willing to spur more Chat outside of our signup threads.
With new technology, we can clear this up and hopefully we will soon.

Tom, you did not read my post or you already had your mind set before you replied....I did not disagree (and that is a quote), just offered a suggestion and an observation. However it's just not a big deal and it's obvious you champion your position. It's your show and its always been great, so we are return customers whether or not we have agreed with you on a ton of issues over the years.
again thanks for the reply

I apologize if I missed something. I thought your suggestion was to create a different forum for signups as opposed to using this forum for them? If that wasn't your idea I apologize. That's what I thought you were suggesting.
