88 NFFC Primetime League Champions Crowned In 2024

This season marked the 21st for the National Fantasy Football Championship and the 17th season for our NFFC Primetime Championship. It was another great year for the Primetime as we finished with 88 leagues and 1,056 teams. It also marked the third straight year that we awarded a $250,000 grand prize.

Ironically, that $250,000 grand prize was won by the tag team that won our first $100,000 NFFC grand prize, Mark Srebro of York Pennsylvania and Jason Emma of Hanover Township, Pennsylvania. Mark and Jason teamed up in 2004 to win our debut NFFC Classic Championship and that $100,000 grand prize and this year they won the Primetime's $250,000 grand prize in epic fashion. Their team started Week 17 in 46th place and jumped into 1st place on one of the final plays of the Monday Night Game when Jahmyr Gibbs scored a touchdown on a 30-yard run.

It marked the second straight year that someone had come from 46th place after Week 16 to win the $250,000 grand prize. Jeffrey Kozlowski did the exact same thing in 2023, surpassing 45 teams during the final week of the Championship Round to finish first overall. Pretty crazy.

The Championship Round this year featured 272 teams as the Primetime continues to grow and grow. Mark and Jason now become our 16th different Primetime champion in our 17-year history as only NFFC Hall of Famer Chad Schroeder has won this title twice. Congrats guys.

Mark and Jason drafted this Primetime Online team on Sunday morning, September 8th and won the league title outright with an 11-3 record and 2,087.05 points. That was good for 66th most points overall among our 1,056 Primetime teams. They moved up to 51st after their team scored 178.6 points in Week 15 and then inched up to 46th place in Week 16 after scoring 173.35 points. But they scored an amazing 261.35 points in Week 17 to finish with a winning total of 762.38 points, winning the title by a mere 2.29 points. Never give up in the NFFC, folks, never give up!!

Mark and Jason teamed up to win their third NFFC Primetime league title this year, one of 88 different league titles that were won this year. We had a lot of great champions this year and a lot of new champions. Of the 88 leagues we hosted this year, 24 different owners won their first Primetime league titles in 2024. That's the same number of first time Primetime league champions that we had last year. In fact, over the last four years, we've averaged 24 first-time Primetime league champions per year, which is great. It's always great to see so many new players joining this contest and excelling because it bodes well for the future of this 12-team contest.

We had a lot of owners who had great seasons in 2024, but none better than NFFC Hall of Famer Chad Schroeder. He had an incredible regular season as he won 9 more Primetime league titles, giving him a record 48 Primetime league titles in his career and 19 over the last two years. It didn't work out for him as well in the Championship Round, but the 9 league titles in one year is definitely a LOT and he actually has won 27 league titles over the last three years. He has now won 33 NFFC Primetime league titles over the last four seasons and he continues to be the NFFC Career Earnings Leader with over $2 million in winnings. Wow.

NFFC Hall of Famer Chris Eibl won three more NFFC Primetime league titles this year and now has 15 league titles, third best all-time. Duke Viveros also won two Primetime league titles and is now 12th best all-time with eight career league titles. Also winning two NFFC Primetime league titles this year were Bob Catsiroumpas, Jason Anthony, Kyle Brinkmann, Peter Lukowicz, Randy Mechels and Richard Bell. Mechels now has 11 career NFFC Primetime league titles, which is tied for sixth-best all-time.

NFFC Hall of Famer Glenn Schroter won his 13th career NFFC Primetime league title, while fellow NFFC Hall of Famer Chris Vaccaro won his 10th career NFFC Primetime league title. Kimra Schleicher and Glenn rank third overall as Kimra also won her 13th career Primetime league title this year. Other notable title winners were John Pausma with his ninth career league title and Michael O'Brien with his eighth career league title.

Winning Primetime league titles for the first time included these 24 owners: Anthony Mayhan, Brian Slack, Bryce Martin, Dan Williamson, David Webb, Greg Dietzler, James Harrison, Jason Cassady, Jesse Wachtel, John Tsimpiris, John Watson, Jonathan Vriesma, Lee Hsu, Michael Fay, Michael Mohrman, Michael Sosnowski, Mike Doria, Ramon Valentin, Raymie Zychowski, Robert Sigle, Ross Schaufelberger, Ryan Erickson, Ted Cohan and Terry Rollins. That's an impressive list of first-time league champs, so congrats to all.

For the second straight year in the NFFC Primetime, the Top 2 picks were the least productive spots in the draft. Last year, it produced only six of 90 NFFC Primetime league champions and this year it produced the same number of league champions from 88 leagues. Every draft spot produced at least three league champions, but only the Top 3 picks produced fewer than SEVEN league champs from each spot.

We had a total of 88 NFFC Primetime leagues in 2024 and here we are showing the draft spots for each league champion this year. Obviously the injury to Christian McCaffrey impacted the first two picks, but overall the champions came from a wide variety of spots. Pick 9 produced the most Primetime league champions -- 11 -- but every pick from 4th to 12th produced between seven and 11 league champions. That's pretty damn good.

Third Round Reversal definitely balances out all picks and that was the case this year again. The back half of the draft produced 53 Primetime league champions, while the front half produced only 35 league champions. But that's because picks 1 and 2 faltered so badly. Everything from Pick 4 on down seemed to have good success. Pick 10 produced 10 league champions, while picks 6, 8 and 12 all produced 9 league champions. Again, very balanced and another example that 3RR levels the playing field.

Ja'Marr Chase was on the most NFFC Primetime league championship teams in 2024 (20) as he had an ADP of 8.56 in the Primetime. Twenty-three percent of Primetime owners who drafted him won a league title, which says a lot. David Montgomery and Joe Burrow were next on 18 championship teams, while Chuba Hubbard, Saquon Barkley and Courtland Sutton were on 15 championship teams. Just a heads up that Sam Darnold was on 11 NFFC Primetime league championship teams, but he was drafted in only three of them. He was picked up via FAAB on eight of those championship teams. Darnold's Primetime ADP was 255.

Jauan Jennings was also on 13 championship teams, but was drafted on only two of those teams. He was picked up in FAAB by 11 of those championship teams. as his Primetime ADP was 288. It wasn't a great year for Free Agency, but those were two key pickups for several owners that led to a title.

Once again, the No. 1 pick was the least productive spot to draft from in 2024. It produced just NINE league champions out of 348 leagues (2.6%). That middle of the draft order was king in the Rotowire OC as picks 6, 7 and 8 produced 130 league champions (37.4%). Outside of the Top 3, the league champions were well dispersed.

Ja'Marr Chase was also the player on the most championship teams in the 2024 Rotowire Online Championship. Out of 348 leagues, he was on 96 league championship teams (27.6%). That's pretty damn impressive. Lamar Jackson was next on 72 league championship teams, followed by George Kittle, Saquon Barkley and Joe Burrow. There were definitely values in this year's drafts.
