Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Paul Sidikman of Livingston, New Jersey won the New York Auction League this year, defeating Fandango in the championship game, 157.45-139.4 for the $4,000 first place prize. Jersey Paul Auction went 9-4 during the regular season and had the most points to earn a first round bye, before winning two tough playoff games. JP is returning to the $650 New York Auction League in 2005 and is pushing to also have a $1,250 Auction League earlier in the day. I'll mark him down for both now and see if we can't make his dream a reality. JP also finished third in New York 6 with 1,675.75 points, finishing 61st overall. He hasn't signed up for the main event yet, but I have a feeling that might be hard to resist. Anyway, thanks for all your support, Paul, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 top prize in the Auction League again and the $7,500 in prizes if we pull off that bigger auction league.

Shawn Childs and Kevin Deckel of Forestdale, Massachusetts have won league titles in our National Fantasy Baseball Championship and our National Fantasy Football Championship, something only one other member has accomplished to date (Dyv being the other). Their C.C.'s Desperado's team won $5,000 by going 10-3 in Las Vegas League 3, finishing with 1,772.65 points, good enough for 22nd overall. They had a shot at the $100,000 grand prize (which they almost won in baseball), but finished 18th in the Championship Round. Great job once again, guys. C.C.'s Desperado's finished 5-8 and missed the playoffs in the Auction League and finished 11th in the Draft Champions League, but will return in 2005 for all three events again, signing up for all three on Sept. 2-3 in Las Vegas. We'll see you guys in Las Vegas in March for the NFBC, but best of luck here in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize, $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and $4,000 in prizes in the Auction League.

We welcome back the only team that swept all three events last year as Lumpy's Losers won Las Vegas League 2, the Las Vegas Auction League and the Las Vegas Draft Champions League. Derek "Lumpy" Anderson of Odenton, Maryland and Kyle Pope pulled off the hat trick to take home a cool $13,000. Lumpy's Losers went 9-4 with 1,819 points to win LV 2, finishing 15th overall during the regular season and 10th in the Championship Round. They then went 10-3 in the Auction League and beat Follow Me 169.1-112.75 in the championship game after beating Gordon Gekko's team in a tough semi-final round game. Lumpy's Losers then won the Draft Champions League with 2,692 points. Wow, great job guys. Obviously they are returning for all three events on Sept. 2-3 in Las Vegas and we wish them best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $4,250 Draft Champions League and $4,000 in Auction League prizes. I'll see you guys in Las Vegas again and this time you buy the beers!

Also the correct spelling is Clampitt and the town is Mooresville not Morrisville.

Let's keep the announcements from the first day coming as I'm starting to catch up. Another of our first signups was Marc Quitsch of Staten Island, New York, who helped lead Team Diesel to a fifth place finish in the New York/Chicago Draft Champions League with 2,294.7 points. Team Diesel finished 40 points out of the money and Marc said he wanted to sign up early to show everyone how committed he is to winning this league next year. Marc will be flying solo in 2005 and will likely add the NFFC's main event and the auction league at a later date. Team Diesel competed in all three events last year and Marc said those other entries will be coming soon. Thanks for trusting in us again, Marc, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

Let's welcome back Jonathan Lueth of Modesto, California, who returns to the NFFC's main event in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Jonathan led his Hoof Hearted team to a 6-7 record in Las Vegas League 4 in 2004, finishing seventh in his league with 1,601.25 points and 103rd overall. Hoof Hearted then finished 86th in the Consolation Bowl. Jonathan signed up on the first day we made the registration page available, so thanks for the support. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back to the NFFC our Consolation Bowl champions as the Mullet Men made good in the playoffs to win the $2,500 prize. The tag team of Robert Shiner of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Brian Deutsch led the Mullet Men to an 8-5 record in Las Vegas League 5, earning third place money with 1,789.6 points. They had the 20th highest total in the NFFC, but missed the championship round. However, their 643.12 points during the playoffs was the fourth best overall and the best among non-playoff teams. Good job guys all year long. Robert and Brian immediately signed up to return to Las Vegas for the big event on Saturday, Sept. 3rd and we'll enjoy having them back again. See you guys in Sin City in another eight months.

The tag team of Donald Thompson and Joe Fitzpatrick of Sterling Heights, Michigan become our first 2005 team to register for FOUR events. These guys want to do both auction leagues, the Draft Champions and the NFFC next year and you'll see why in a hurry. Team Fitzpatrick will be back in the NFFC's main event in Chicago after earning a paid entry through the Gekko Invitational, going 7-6 with 1,664.4 points and then winning the playoff round with 644.99 points. Congrats guys. Team Thompson also won Chicago League 1 with an 11-2 record and 1,837.2 points ($5,000), finishing 11th in the regular season and then fourth in the Championship Round with 634.38 points for another $2,500. Team Fitzpatrick also finished third in the Las Vegas/Chicago Auction League with a 9-5 record, winning the third place game and more money. Only the Team Thompson Draft Champions team didn't cash out, finishing ninth in the New York/Chicago League with 2,203.25 points. Team Thompson is now signing up for the $650 Auction League and Draft Champions League in Chicago on Friday, Sept. 2nd, the NFFC on Saturday, Sept. 3rd and the $1,250 Auction League if we can pull it off on Sunday, Sept. 4th. It's good to welcome back our defending Draft Champions League champs from the New York/Chicago League as Mike Ferre and Daryl Lechniak of Peoria, Illinois have officially committed to that league in 2005. The Ugly Green Tomatoes won the league title and $4,000 by finishing with 2,489.15 points this year, just 15.65 points ahead of Team Gilfoyle. Congrats guys. Their Very Ugly Yellow Tomatoes finished 7-7 in the Las Vegas/Chicago Auction League, but failed to make the playoffs. That hasn't deterred Mike and Daryl, however, as they also signed up for the $650 Auction League in 2005 as well.
