Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jun 13, 2005 3:26 am

Okay, let's give it up for the return of our defending NFFC champion, Jason Emma of Plymouth, Pennsylvania, who has just signed up for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Jason and Mark Srebro teamed up to lead Teenage Wasteland to the NFFC Championship last year, splitting $100,000 between them. Teenage Wasteland went 9-4 in Las Vegas League 3 to finish second, but qualified for the playoffs with 1,877.05 points, good enough for eighth overall. Teenage Wasteland then won the $100,000 prize by totalling 715.34 points in the playoffs, capping it off with the high point total in Week 16. As you may have read in Fantasy Sports Magazine, Jason and Mark are splitting up this year, with Jason drafting his own team in New York and Gordon Gekko taking his own team in Las Vegas. I like it as two teams are better than one! :D Welcome back Jason and make sure that Tom takes care of you on the drink tickets in New York! :D Oh, and best of luck once again in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Jason has also signed up for the Draft Champions League in New York on Friday, Sept. 2nd. Jason and Mark teamed up to finish sixth in the Las Vegas Draft Champions League last year as their Silver and Gold team finished with 2,223.2 points. We now have four teams signed up for the Draft Champions League in New York, leaving us with 10 open spots. Keep 'em coming and let's fill that up as it's a fun, fun concept. Thanks again Jason and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

Let's give it up for yet another new member of the growing NFFC family, although this new member is a familiar face to us. Perry Van Hook and Allen Myerson of Marina del Rey, California will form a tag team in the NFFC's main event at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Perry has been a loyal participant in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship the last two years and an original member of the WCOFF, but this year he's taking a pair of weekend trips to Las Vegas to compete in high-stakes football events. Good choice, Perry. Allen, we welcome you aboard for the first time as well and will take good care of you in Las Vegas. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. We now have 103 total paid signups for the main event, including 49 in Las Vegas. Keep 'em coming as we have a 20,000 square foot room to fill up!

Okay, we're starting to get more interest in the debut NFFC Ultimate Draft League, which will take place in all three cities on Sunday, Sept. 4th. The tag team of Ken Magner and Jesse Herron has agreed to compete at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, becoming the seventh team to sign up for that event. Ken and Jesse will also team up in the main event as Ken has decided to switch his destination from New York to Las Vegas. It's always good to have Sack in Sin City, so welcome back Ken. Ken will also switch from the New York Auction League to the Las Vegas Auction League, where we now have 17 signups, a good start toward a second full league there. Ken is currently competing in the NFBC's Ultimate League, so he has experience in these ultra high-stakes events. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $42,500 in prizes there.

Let's welcome our eighth official signup to the debut NFFC Ultimate League as the tag team of Mike Ward of Stamford, Florida and Alan Narz have agreed to compete on Sunday, Sept. 4th at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Mike and Alan led Team NEW to a first place finish in Las Vegas League 6 last year as it led the total points competition for much of the season, finishing with 1,994.25 points. Team NEW finished seventh in the Championship Round and is returning to Las Vegas again this year. Mike and Alan competed in The Draft 2003, the industry's first $5,000 entry fee league, and are looking forward to this competition. Thanks again guys and good luck in the hunt for the $42,500 in league prizes.

Ken(Magner), I'm sorry to see you switch from NY to Vegas. But then again, you stole the Baltimore Ravens from me last year. So maybe it's a good thing...lol...Good Luck and tear it up in Vegas Ken.

Let's give it up for our 79th returning member from 2004 as the tag team of Erik Newman and Brian Kane of St. Paul, Minnesota are returning to Las Vegas to compete in the NFFC's main event. Erik and Brian led their Dreaded Spoilers team to a 6-7 finish in Las Vegas League 1 last year, finishing 134th overall with 1,565.55 points. They had a better run in the Consolation Round, finishing 60th overall with 518.07 points. They had the chance to compete against Meat Loaf in LV 1 last year and are looking forward to the draft again on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino. This latest signup now gives us 104 paid signups for the main event, including 51 in Las Vegas. Keep 'em coming! Thanks for your trust and support again, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for Dave Cushard of Marshall, Michigan (oops, he's moving today, so it could be a new address by now), who becomes our ninth signup for the NFFC Ultimate League Draft, which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 4th. Dyv is one of our most loyal participants and one of only a handful of competitors who has done every single event we've offered. He's currently competing in our NFBC Ultimate League and will bring a team of Leaderboard Sports guys to this debut Ultimate League draft. We have five open spots for the Ultimate League, but will definitely try for a second league after that. Thanks for your trust and support again, Dave, and best of luck in the hunt for the $42,500 in prizes.

legacy - too bad champ will never be next to your name...unless it's the "giveaway" division champ
