FF Maestro - gushing is good for the players who do not listen to others and know the game. It can create opportunity come draft day.

In this instance, tonight V Jax moves up draft boards and your players have a better chance of getting to you. With that in mind, I would think you should be saying VJax is a first round pick this year instead of saying otherwise.

Seriously though, how good was it to see the real deal, even in it's limited from tonight. Welcome back NFL.

I'd have AJ, Calvin and Roddy and then comes the group that includes Fitz, Nicks, Wayne, Wallace, Jennings and V Jax. I could see anyone of those players going as the 4th WR.

I love VJax this season. Ton of potential with him back for a full season. Rivers loves to throw the deep ball and Jackson can get deep as well as anyone. In his last (nearly) full season, he caught five passes or more in 10 games, had seven 100-yard receiving games and scored nine times. There's every reason to believe he can duplicate or exceed those numbers.
Jackson missed the first 10 games of the season because he was unhappy with his contract. Once he returned he suffered a leg injury right away and missed a few more games. Finally in week 15 he put up the type of game he is capable of (5 Rec for 112 yards and 3 TD) but 2010 is pretty much a wasted season. He didn’t make any noise in the other games he played in. After a breakout 2009 season, V-Jax was all set up for a huge year in 2010 playing on a team with an elite QB (Rivers) and high scoring offense. He decided to call GM A.J Smith’s bluff and it backfired because the offense was really good even without him. He was “franchise tagged” this offseason. I expect him to come in motivated and ready to put up elite numbers so he can get paid. V-Jax has great size (6-5 230) which makes him a great red zone threat. I would expect around 70 receptions and double digit TDs from him this year.

I couldn't get enough of the highlights from five freakin' pre-season games. I just looked at the lineup tonight and said "YEAH, FIVE MORE GAMES TONIGHT!!" I'm acting like it's Opening Day of the baseball season!! I've never been so excited to see football again. It's amazing and the NFL lockout is a distant memory.

It's time to prepare for the fantasy football season folks. Everything is set up now for a FANTASTIC season of fun. Now if we could just get the stock market roller coaster to settle down, we'd all know how to finance our passion. Right? ;)

VJax ranked 11th in NFFC scoring among WRs in 2009 and he was 9th in average points per game. He missed one game that year so he could have ended up ranking higher. Gates was obviously around back then and so was Floyd so there seems to be no reason to worry about targets being an issue.

With Jackson expected to play the entire season projecting him to be a Top 10 WR would appear to be a slam dunk. It's not out of the question he could ascend even higher when you take into consideration his talent and the fact Rivers is one of the elite QBs in the game.
...so, 70 receptions and 10 TD's will make VJ an overall top 4 or 5 wideout this season?...nah, don't think so, man...
I never said those numbers will eaqual top 5, but if it's closer to 80 Rec and add in 1200 yards, then yes, is all I'm saying.
