Frank, on the rare instances that I have closed threads it's not because Fanball or Ryan in particular were being bashed. It's typically because the threads had degenerated into useless wastes of space. As Greg and I have said many times we have but one simple request for everyone here - behave like an adult. If people can't do that and threads go astray as a result then we do what needs to be done. Or if a poster pushes us well beyond the limits we'll respond as we did today.

As Billy said, posting here is a privilege, not a right. The fact that in eight seasons of the NFFC this is only the second time a poster has been banned speaks volume for how tolerant Greg and I have been. The fact that the same person has now been the only person banned from these boards speaks volumes about him as well.

Again, act like adults, treat one another with respect and you won't hear a peep out of myself or Greg. Maybe I'm not very bright but that seems to me to be a very simple request to make. And I would like to think everyone here would agree with that request and also acknowledge that if someone can't adhere to that very simple request then perhaps taking a stern approach is a justifiable response.

What is so funny about all of this is that I haven't really been an active member of the forums for a couple years now but I come back every now and then and what do I see?? Glenn being banned yet again. Happened back in 2007 and is now happening in 2010. To be honest, TK and Greg I don't know when you guys are going to learn that the dollars that one person puts towards your events are not worth losing the amount of customers that are alienated by Glenn. I don't have complete knowledge of the situation this time but I'm pretty sure it's no different than it was 3 years ago when he was posting under different screen names due to his banishment. Just another reason for me to stay away.

Who wants to do an office pool and guess the moniker that Snake comes up with to post here?

Could it be the latest NFFC message board sign up by the name of VicksMan?

Odds start at 8-1 that Vicksman is Snake.....

Greg/Tom,

I want this subject to be gone like I'm sure you both do, but I feel compelled to state a few things here. This has really been bothering me. I didn't email since this thread seems to want to clear the air in public.

First off, I care about this event. I want it and these message boards to be successful.

I am speaking up, not for Glenn, but for the future direction of the boards.

Two things bug me about this thread:

1- If you have banned the Snake moniker, why use it in the title of this thread? No good can come from that.

2- I don't understand why you leave it to the MB members to "police themselves"? What good can come from this? All it takes is one person to say something polarizing and we back policing each other.

Since you and Tom are here on the boards frequently enough, is it possible for you to take swift and concise action? This eliminates any appearance of "us versus them" or talk of a "chum club". If someone messes up, eliminate them, period.

To answer your questions, Russ:

1. I think more people know who "Snake" is on the boards than know who Glenn Karant is. So that's why I put his board name in the headline as opposed to his real name. Also, I've met Glenn in person. I've never had any problems with "Glenn." The problems I've had and Greg has had and a large number of our participants have had have been with "Snake." The fact Glenn has chosen to create a unique message board persona played a factor in all of this. Should Glenn return, I hope he behaves more like "Glenn" as opposed to "Snake" or "GK." If he does that, we won't have any further problems with him.

2. Perhaps Greg and I have been too hands off over the years but we don't want to be babysitters. We want this to be a fun place where people talk football or whatever, run a little smack, but be courteous and polite and respectful. We've never thought that was a difficult request and so we've stayed away from micro-managing the boards as a result. Maybe that was a mistake on our part and perhaps we need to take stricter measures going forward. If that's what it comes to then that's what we'll do. I don't want to speak for Greg but I continue to hope that we don't have to babysit this place. That isn't any fun for us and it certainly isn't any fun for any of you.
