I wonder if the NFFC/NBC tag team would be ROOTING for this to happen to justify their insurance payments...or rooting against it to keep that payment low for the following season.

So you've never traveled to a high stakes draft...yet you can magically come up with around $3500.00 to do so due to an uber-long-shot marketing tag line?

Let's assume you believe you are twice as skilled as the average player..ok your odds go down to 1-75,000. You're better than that...you're 10 times better than the average player..ok your odds go down to 1-15,000...heck, you're 100 times better than the average player ok your odds go down to 1-1500. Forget it you're the ultimate player and you are 1000 times better than the average player...your odds 1-150. Want to try 10,000 times better...ok now you have a really good shot at it.. 1-15. :D
SBM- I traveled to the first WCOFF. Long story short I had some family medical emergencies and that season of fantasy football pretty much got flushed for me and haven't been back yet. I'm not rich but I've won my share over the years so I can afford to play fantasy football at this thousand dollars level when I see something I really like. I usually focus on CDM roto style Salary Cap games as I believe in that format and top managers being able to win consistently there...but if a million dollar carrot gets dangled for some draft leagues I can be tempted to divert a little focus this way. ;)

153,500 to 1. So the odds are good it won't happen at all. But you never know. :D With each contest having wild cards, we're probably looking at something like 62 playoff teams in the NFFC and 74 playoff teams in the NBC FFC. Out of those teams, how many do you think will have duplicate owners? Do you think it's possible that 10 owners will make the Championship Round in each contest? 15? 20? 25? Maybe 30?
I think you may be underestimating how difficult these leagues are Greg.

In FOUR year in the 14-team NFFC, NO ONE has made it to the championship round all 4 years.

ONLY THREE people have made it 3 of 4 years.

Now, it SHOULD be easier to make the championship round in the 12-team NBC, as there are two less teams you have to beat.

HOWEVER, let's say you get in both. It isn't about ONLY beating all the people who got in both c-ship rounds, but you have to beat 50+ people in EACH event. These are the "best of the best" teams we are talking about here, not the weaker teams you defeated in order to win or have best total points in your league.

That all may sound pessimistic, but I am just being a realist here.

I feel my accomplishments in the first 4 years rank up there with the best in the NFFC, but this is a VERY tall order for anyone to achieve.

That all being said, I hope the insurance company isn't trying to rob you blind, as I think this would be HUGE to promote both of these events.

I know I for one would enjoy taking a shot at it, that is for sure!!! :D

Just the fact that the Main Event winners are rarely those consistent top players.

The "Best" players out there who finish in the top on almost a yearly basis are not the Overall Champions. Football is a brutally hard and short season.

Of the Childs, Kenyon, Wazowski, Thomas, Gillis, Jupinka, Srebro, and the many other top dog finishers...only Srebro has threatened to win the NFFC/NFBC combo...and not in the same year. (and has not come even close to the success he had in year one of the NFFC.)

The other guys are still searching for that FIRST overall championship...it's that hard, and there are that many things that must fall right for you.

...and you're talking WINNING BOTH in the same season!!!

Win ONE first.

Riff,

I have won the CDM challenge (salary cap), I have finished 2nd and 6th overall in Fantasy Jungle (12 team), and have finished in the top 20 overall 3x in the NFFC, but to do TWO of these in ONE season????? Oh wait, I only won ONE of these outright!!!!!

VERY TOUGH!
