The "Best" players out there who finish in the top on almost a yearly basis are not the Overall Champions. Football is a brutally hard and short season.
Of the Childs, Kenyon, Wazowski, Thomas, Gillis, Jupinka, Srebro, and the many other top dog finishers...only Srebro has threatened to win the NFFC/NFBC combo...and not in the same year. (and has not come even close to the success he had in year one of the NFFC.)
The other guys are still searching for that FIRST overall championship...it's that hard, and there are that many things that must fall right for you.
...and you're talking WINNING BOTH in the same season!!!
Win ONE first.
~Lance Hey Lance, you are #1 in NFBC this week and you had Olivo today

It would be fun to win a week, though...I'll take a Pete Rose signed ball.

As has been previously discussed the realistic prize is the prize for the top combined finisher in both contests. Someone is guaranteed to win that; and that's the prize if significant, that would entice me.
The $1 Million bonus is certainly the marketing headline, and a great bonus to have "sitting" out there. But I suspect the top players would be more interested in the Top Finisher prize if it were substantial.

No thanks...I'd rather aim high ..and if 2 pays 1.2 million and 1 pays 100K then I'll be trying for 2. 1 would be good..2 would be the target.
Playing for 100K isn't tempting enough for me...I can win that doing what I do already. BUT 1.2 Million is a whole nother story.

Maybe for existing players a few thousand gauranteed to be paid is what interests them...to attract someone on the other side of the fence I'd think a huge possible(even if a relative longshot) payout might be more enticing to get them to climb over the fence to the other side.
------------------------------------------------
As to the Top players rarely winning and how impossible it is. In my specialty I have that sort of success...and in Draft League format I know that there was a guy at AFFL (Lynn Renfro) that won a Contest of theirs and then won a couple more the next year.
Maybe he'd be interested in traveling for chance at 1 million now that AFFL is gone?
Sure it's marketing...but if it attracts more players who might not have played both (or even one) that's the whole point, Right?

~Lance [/QB][/QUOTE]Hey, Mr. Baseball. Can you win the Weekly Prize in the NFBC this week?? Take a picture of you first through Wednesday's games as that's a nice feat indeed. Good luck the rest of the week and I'll be cheering for Mr. Rollins this weekend.
I have a Pete Rose autographed baseball on my desk just waiting for you. But the Weekly Prize is even better as our new sponsor is all locked up. You'll like the prize....if you win it.

Greg, you know how to reach The Serpent if you so desire...SNAKE Yeah, I'm sure NBC and F+W will jump at the chance to invest this with the Snake Insurance Company. Thanks big guy, but we'll keep looking at Geico.
