Thanks, and I'm sure you correct because of your expertise, but I totally disagree with you. I'm not at all worried about Kevin (IR) Smith, Danny (selling used cars, because the league is catching up his purpose) Woodhead, and Shannahan's (fit my system... ala TDavis) RB situation.
BTW, my next pick is Bryce Harper,,,i want my best chances for points in Washington.

Can someone please explain to me why everyone seems so gaga over AJ Green this year. Granted, he had a pretty good rookie campaign but still only averaged around 14 ppg. He has a noodle arm QB, plays in crap weather in Nov/Dec in Cincy, Balt, Pitt and Cleve which was reflected in his stats over the 2nd half of last season vs the 1st half; and although Simpson wasn't great he was a better 2nd receiver than Cincy will probably have this year meaning teams will undoubtedly roll coverage to Green even more than last year. I also like Green as a player, but given his current situation I can't see him improving materially over last year's stats. I'll admit I definitely could be wrong on Green considering I said similar things about Gronk prior to last season. Of course Gronk had Brady/Belichick not Dalton/Lewis.

I definitely think that he could be a bit better than last year but I like him better in the third round.
Bill - you definitely have enough talent on the roster to win this. My biggest concern is that you have to trust Bellicheck and Shannahan to win this and you have to hope that LeShoure and Best either play or stay healthy. Just a look of potential problems at RB. If the starts align then you are gold.

Trendsetters 2012
This is the industry's first fantasy football draft of the season with veteran HSFF players and the results deserve plenty of merit. I also loaded up with the 3rd, 8th, 10th, and 11th picks in the rookie draft, so I hope to fill a couple holes with prospects in a couple weeks. The rookie draft and what I'm able to obtain with these picks will probably go a long way in determining what kind of season I end up having. The off season hasn't been good to you so far Glenn. Tebow losing his starting role, Washington bringing in new WR's, Tamme following Manning instead of Clark. You're going to have to catch something at TE. Maybe Clark will stay in Indy and become Luck's favorite target. I think I might have grabbed another TE or two instead of come of the rookie picks. It's really tough to get a rookie TE that does anything outside of NE.
Wayne [/QUOTE]Hey Bud, good job with the writeups on our drafts thus far. Very insightful. Though I enjoyed Rob's comments on my draft after the previous phase a bit more than yours after this one.
I do agree with your analysis though. The off-season moves have left me with some big holes to fill. Still I do have those 4 rookie picks and with the second pick of the phase following the rookie draft, I realistically have five. Now if I can just turn those picks into the rookie seasons of Cam Newton, Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, and Rob Gronkowski/Aaron Hernandez, problems solved. Should be easy enough.

Trendsetters 2012
Here is my updated team after 21 rounds:
QB: Cutler (6) and Flacco (7)
RB: Charles (3), Tolbert (8), Taiwan Jones (12), Delone Carter (17), Danny Ware (18)
WR: Fitzgerald (2), Crabtree (4), Manningham (9), Andre Roberts (10), Breaston (15)
TE: Gronkowski (1), Heap (20)
PK: Gould (14) and Succop (16)
DEF: SEA (13), MIA (19), JAX (21)
I also have rookie picks 2 and 7 prior to the final phase of drafting. Now what to do with those two picks is another question. If a second RB gets drafted by a team and has a chance to start, I may have to pass on Luck or RG3. My needs at RB may too great right now.
QB: Cutler and the self-proclaimed top 5 QB Joe Flacco may have to lead this team. I was pretty sure the Bears would make some WR moves to help him out and I think they aren't done just yet.
RB: Eggs and basket meet Jamaal Charles. I still don't get why Tolbert went to CAR when there were better "fantasy" destinations? The rest of my kids should touch the field and are behind RBs who have issues. It could work out but I think I need to "hit" on a solid rookie with the #2 pick.
WR: I am not getting too warm of a fuzzy feeling with my core. Having waited at QB and RB, you would think that my wrs might look better on paper. I liked the Crabtree/Mham combo more without Moss in the mix. I reached for both Crabtree and Roberts and now I am having a little buyers remorse. I wanted Doucet to corner the AZ market but Jack made sure that didn't happen.
TE: I kept waiting and waiting for my second TE and have to wonder if Carter was a better pick in the 17th than Martellus Bennett would have been? Todd heap was a decent pick in the 21st especially since I own most of the Cards passing O. I really wanted Chandler but he went just 2 picks ahead of me to Donny.
PK: B+
DEF: Forced to take a third one in the 21st since the other two aren't necessarily great. I do have a hunch that the SEA D is going to be worth owning.
We'll also have to see how the bye weeks play out tomorrow when the schedules get released. It will have some impact on the rest of my picks. I may have screwed the pooch taking so many SF/AZ wrs.

Re: Trendsetters 2012
I just made my last two picks of the rookie phase of the Trendsetters draft. Donnie needs to make his pick and then the rookie phase is over. I had 4 of the 12 total picks, having traded my 8th, 16th, 19th, and 20th picks in the main draft for the 3rd, 8th, 10th, and 11th picks in the rookie draft. I had significant needs at QB and TE that I was hoping to address in the rookie phase and believe I was able to snag the top rookie options to fortify those positions with my first two choices. With my last two choices, my goal was to roster a pair of players who considering talent and situation could make a potential impact this season. We'll see soon enough if I chose right.
QB - Peyton Manning
QB - Tim Tebow
QB - RG III
RB - Ray Rice
RB - Marshawn Lynch
RB - Beanie Wells
RB - Joseph Addai
WR - Mike Wallace
WR - Vincent Jackson
WR - Sidney Rice
WR - Santana Moss
WR - Eric Decker
WR - Alshon Jefferey
WR - Rueben Randle
TE - Dallas Clark
TE - Evan Moore
TE - Coby Fleener
K - Sebastian Janikowski
K - Dan Carpenter
D - Vikings
D - Rams
We now go into the final phase (9 rounds) of the Trendsetters draft where I hope to be able to grab one more potential impact rookie with the 2nd pick in that phase. I have a few players I am interested in. Which I choose will depend on what Donnie does with the last pick of the rookie phase and what Dan does with the first pick of the final main phase. Looking forward to completing this draft and seeing how this team does in a few months. Trendsetters is always a blast and always an experience.
